Snoop Dog was thinking about his money more than thirty years ago when he released the song ‘Gin And Juice’ in 1993. Even though he runs a beverage company now by the name of ‘Gin & Juice’, the Long Beach rapper and businessman has an NCAA football team’s naming right in mind. And since the NCAA modified its regulations in 2022, Snoop Dogg’s three-year agreement to serve as the Arizona Bowl’s title sponsor represents the “first time an alcohol brand has sponsored a bowl game.” As of now, the games between Colorado State and the Miami RedHawks are called the “Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop” game. However, how much did Snoop Dogg pay for the right to use the name?
It’s a seven-figure contract, albeit the precise details are not disclosed. Announced on May 6, 2024, this partnership is a landmark because it is the first time an alcohol brand has been allowed as a sponsor. Safe to say, Snoop Dogg’s idea is a first in collegiate sports, as it not only involves the naming rights but also a pledge to pay NIL money. He committed to pay any student-athlete who plays in the bowl game. But are you aware of who previously sponsored this bowl game?
When the Arizona Bowl began in 2015, Nova Home Loans sponsored it for the first five years. In 2020, Offerpad sponsored the bowl game for one season. And now, it’s the turn of ‘Gin & Juice’. According to Justin Spears in Tucson, the Arizona Bowl is the “latest bowl game to feature a celebrity as a title sponsor”, because of its partnership with Snoop Dogg. But this is not the first time.

Before Snoop Dogg, former NFL player Rob Gronkowski and talk show presenter Jimmy Kimmel sponsored the L.A. Bowl. And after that, they have received recognition as bowl sponsors in recent history. However, according to Kym Adair, executive director of the Arizona Bowl, Snoop Dogg “will be a color commentator for the game broadcast.” As of now, we have to take that information with a grain of salt, but as per Adair, “Who’s not going to want to watch Snoop in the booth broadcast our game? It’s going to bring a lot of viewers and eyeballs like we’ve never seen before.”
A quick mention would also be Snoop Dogg’s involvement as a commentator for the UFC’s Dana White Contender Series, alongside UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber. The famed rapper and businessman couldn’t stop screaming “O’Malley!” when Sean O’Malley knocked his DWCS opponent out to win a UFC contract. In that light, we can’t discount Snoop Dogg’s involvement as a commentator at the Arizona Bowl games.
This Arizona Bowl game will undoubtedly attract a sizable crowd if Snoop is in the booth. What should one watch out for in this clash, you ask? Let’s dive in.

Arizona Bowl: What to watch?
Under coach Mike Bobo, Colorado State made its last in the 2017 New Mexico Bowl. At Dreamstyle Stadium, the Rams faced Marshall following CSU’s 7-5 regular-season record. And this year, the Rams have an overall record of 8-4. Considering the ranking, it can be anticipated their upcoming game on December 29 will be more intense.
Conversely, the RedHawks (8-5) defeated North Texas in the 2021 bowl and are playing for the fourth straight year. Therefore, both clubs will be desperate to win on Saturday. So where and when can you watch the game? Will the weather be cooperative?
