Sawter Robertson was a starting quarterback in their Week 3 game against the Air Force. The Bears dominated throughout the game and secured a 31-3 victory. In their week 4 game, Robertson went toe-to-toe with Shedeur Sanders. He threw for 148 yards and 2 TDs. That wasn’t all. The dual-threat also rushed for 82 yards on 9 carries and fetches himself a rushing TD.

Sawyer was born on February 1, 2003, to Angela and Stan Robertson. He has followed his father’s footsteps by choosing a career in football. However, his father is a talented athlete who played two sports, baseball and football. The quarterback has decided to carry forward the family tradition and make a name for himself with his impressive achievements on the field.

His extended family also contributed to their family’s athletic background. His oldest uncle, Steve, used to play golf at Wayland Baptist University. Matt and Alesha both played basketball. Much information about Swawyers mom is not available online. Her personal and professional life is unknown, and although her son and the entire Robertson family are in the spotlight, she stays away from it. Sawyer’s maternal grandfather, who coached at Abernathy, has also played an influential role in his life. Growing up around such great athletes has helped Sawyer a lot in shaping his football career.
How is he related to Jarrett Stidham?
Jarrett Ryan Stidham plays for the Denver Broncos in the NFL and is Sawyer’s cousin. He played his college football with Baylor and Auburn Tigers players. He was picked by the New England Patriots in 2019 during their fourth round and spent his three seasons as a backup.
Sawyer and Jarrett not only play the same positions but also share a deep connection with the Baylor Bears. Jarrett started his freshman year at Baylor as a backup QB. In his first seven games, he completed 24 out of 28 passes for 331 yards and scored six touchdowns. He got the opportunity to make his debut because Seth Russell suffered a neck injury. In his debut against Kansas State, he threw for 419 yards and scored four touchdowns. He started the game against Oklahoma and unfortunately injured his back, but he finished with 257 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Regarding Sawyer’s performance with Baylor, the quarterback appeared in six games, and he became the starting quarterback against Utah because Black Shapen was injured. He completed 66 out of 117 passes for 864 yards and recorded two touchdowns for four interceptions. He also rushed the ball 35 times for 69 yards and scored one touchdown.
