You started attending high school and suddenly found your classmate to be someone having familial roots. How cool, nah? That’s the story of Cam Ward and Kyron Drones. While the two rival QBs are all geared up for their big day facing each other at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, it’s actually going to be hard for their families to decide whom to root for. But their rivalries are only limited to the gridiron. Beyond that, the two athletes came together with Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders for a great initiative.

While the CFB world is going gaga for Saturday’s game, it takes to be a die-hard Miami or Virginia fan to know the real deal. It is not only about making their programs proud. But Ward and Drones would be fighting against each other to be that favorite kid in their family. Yes, you read that right! Here we have two QBs who are actually cousins from their mother’s sides. But that doesn’t make them fall under the same light. Instead, both Ward and Drones were rated very differently as prospects in high school.

Back in high school while Ward struggled with his recruitment, Drones earned himself the position of a four-star prospect. But somehow the cousins were destined to start their career together. They got their first breakthrough, all thanks to the transfer portal. Ward landed at Miami who were able to find his underlying talent alarming enough to be one of the leading early-season Heisman contenders.

On the other hand, Drones went to Virginia Tech giving enough premonition for the family that things are going to be tough for them to choose between their two kids. They grew up in Houston, less than an hour from each other. But only while attending high school did they get to know that their mothers were second cousins who had lost touch with time. Ever since then, their bonds have surpassed high school to joining programs and now they recently came together for a grand initiative.

They say birds of the same feather flock together. Now that Ward and Drones have become quite a name when it comes to college football, it made another top QB Shedeur Sanders seek their help. But what for? No not any commercial or anything related to their own benefits. Instead, the trio came together to guide and instruct the budding talents who are about to step into the world of sports.

That’s what sets them apart from the other QBs. Standing at a crucial juncture in their respective careers, they held hands with Select QB Athletics, a premier QB training provider that has its base across Houston for their new mission, Quarterback Camp. Days before the main event on July 27, on July 16 they dropped a teaser poster, too.  

It featured the Big 3- Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward, and Kyron Drones along with the NFL legend and now quarterbacks coach Darrell Colbert. While both Ward and Drone’s parents supported them as a team for their grand plays, this Saturday is definitely going to split them apart as they have to choose their favorite between the two.
