Deion Sanders laying down the law—Is this the tough love CU Buffs need to succeed?

Need a dose of motivation? Deion Sanders’ vocal tonic would be enough to get you going. As Thee Pregame Show Network captured, the Buffs HC is turning his squad into a bunch of relentless go-getters. He tries every way to make the players not make choices they will regret later. This is the ideal time to boost their morale now that the 2024 season is knocking at the door! Deion didn’t turn the pep talks into a one-man show. Instead, the Buffs HC added some “NFL” touch in the motivational sessions by inviting a special friend to do the honors.

Deion’s pep talks are like a turbo boost to keep the team’s spirits high when the match-up is near. The Buffs would face their opening game this season on August 29 against the North Dakota State. While the stress-o-meter is off the charts, the YouTube channel posted a clip from August 16 where the Buffs came together in the team room. Right on cue, Deion stepped up to drop some wisdom bombs. He stressed only one point: how success doesn’t come gift-wrapped. Instead, you’ve got to grind for it, “Anything in life that that truly appreciated is earned.”

Deion stayed busy dropping reality checks as he pointed out how the success earned by the players could be snatched away any day, and they would be captivated by a guilt loop forever. “Going learn that when you are mature in life that things that you heard, you’re going to appreciate thing that things that are given, somebody can retract that and take it back and hold you hostage to it if they gave it to you and you didn’t earn your positions,” stated the Buffs HC.

Deion’s got a universal jolt for everyone to take the reins in their own hands: “And this has nothing to do with how big or small positions athletes play for. Whether you starter second team or rotational earn it.” The Buffs are riding high with the coaches, who are living proof of what isn’t just handed over with a gold-plated spoon. In his hype-up operations, Deion had a helping hand.

Lewis’ lessons on life and football for Deion’s Buffs

Deion’s program’s USP is its coaching roster. The Colorado Buffaloes is one lucky program with 127 years of NFL experience. The Buffs HC has loaded his program with big shots like fellow Hall of Fame inductee Warren Sapp and his longtime coordinator Pat Shurmur. However, this time, another “NFL” friend dropped in to be part of Deion’s mission. It’s none other than Baltimore Ravens iconic LB Ray Lewis, with whom the now-Buffs HC had shared a locker room.

The twice-crowned Super Bowl king answered Deion’s call to sprinkle some pep and jazz up the Buffs tribe for the 2024 huddle. And what was the core mantra for his speech? He emphasized the need to soak in the present before it vanishes. Lewis addressed the team, “I never understood how we take time for granted. How we act like time is a friend of ours.”

Have an interesting take?

Coming from a tough man who has undergone the personal loss of losing his son, Ray Lewis III, to a drug overdose, it felt more relatable from Deion’s squad when the two-time Defensive Player of the Year pointed out, “If you don’t have a pro mentality about life, the game will pass you too quickly.” Let’s watch how the players take this pep talk and make the opening game their personal blockbuster.
