Talking about Gerry Faust’s lady love, he married the woman of his dreams, Marlene Agruso, on April 4, 1964. Faust only desired two things in his life; the first was to be a head coach at Notre Dame, and the second was to marry a simple Catholic girl. Marlene was the best thing that ever happened to him. Both of them have three beautiful kids and six adorable grandchildren, who filled their lives with amour and happiness. One of their kids, Steve Faust, was a Notre Dame graduate, too.

Even Moeller’s former president Carl Kremer praised Faust, saying, “Coach Faust embodied all that it means to be a Man of Moeller.” Carl even talked about how Gerry Faust inspired his players to be good at both football and academics and always pushed them to achieve more. That’s the kind of impact he had over Moeller High School before moving to Notre Dame.
