Nebraska Cornhuskers received a harsh reality check in a historic rivalry game against Iowa, and so did Dylan Raiola. ‘‘It will be electric Friday night, last game, at their place, it will be a good scene”: the pre-game motivation of Raiola turned into ashes of frustration after the scoreboard showcased a crushing 13-19 in a houseful Kinnick Stadium. It was another crazy transition of the CFB week after the Huskers’ blowout 44-25 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers last week. The worst thing about the game is that it was never an unfamiliar circumstance for the Huskers. They had a bitter memory imprinted on their veins, and the Saturday night (November 30) came off just as a burning echo. The 19-year-old couldn’t do much to carry the game against a lackluster offense. To add to the insult, a high school baseball player trolled the prodigy on IG.
If you’re a Nebraska fan, you have no option but to keep your chin up for better luck next time. Raiola, getting out of the trauma, did the same. He retrospected the game and came up with a hopeful update. Catering to all the fans and veterans out there, Raiola posted some photo clips from the heartbreaking game and wrote, ”Patience… stay on that side!💫🙏🏽” It’s pretty clear that the QB phenom already looks to what comes next, but the naysayers quite essentially didn’t refrain from holding him back.
While a lot of fans flooded the comment section, sending the Husker good wishes for a stronger season next time and snubbing unlucky breaks as a stepping stone toward greater success, Baseball junior Cael Moss had a different suggestion. ”Try to hang on to the football next time,” the 18-year-old Iowa Hawkeyes faithful dished some disrespect.

While trolling culture is never something to be appreciated, you can’t blame the baseball head, either. Nebraska fell down a radar back in the season. Rhule has no excuse for their consistent low ever since they handed the Colorado Buffs a solid defeat on September 7th.
The only glimmer into the dark was Dylan Raiola and new offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen but they, too, failed to leave any major impact as we moved into the thick of the conference. But wait, Raiola had a lot more reasons to be trolled throughout the season than just a slump under his pads.

They say we dress the way we want to see ourselves. If that is the case for Raiola, the young QB definitely dreams to be the next big thing in the NFL. The 19-year-old freshman’s uncanny resemblance to Patrick Mahomes made him an instant internet sensation. The internet world made a monkey out of him for trying too hard to be a look-alike of the Kansas City Chiefs legend.
So, while Raiola may catch some grief for being a copycat of Mahomes, we can’t just ignore the similarities.
Both flaunt number 15, carry a cool head and a curled hair look, and dish swagger in the mirrored blade sunglasses. But wait, it’s not just about the parallel fashion senses. The congruity in the significant playing style also made a strong case for his bright future, like the two-time NFL MVP. If you watch a video of any of them making throws from different arm angles and nailing the practices, you will pause to decide who this is. It’s in their genes. Both of them represent an esteemed family line closely related to football. And it’s never one-sided.

Mahomoes’ trainer used to train the Nebraska QB in the off-season. Also, the NFL legend had some occasional praise for Raiola. After the Huskers QB posted an impressive record against UETP, the Chiefs’ star responded, ”That’s my lil cuzzo.”
May the adorable bond spread the wings, and Raiola continues to bounce back after every unlucky break, giving trollers some life.
