Is Kirby Smart losing control of his team, or is this just a bump in the road?

Week 11! The college football landscape is changing every week. But did you see a second defeat coming for Kirby Smart’s team? Jaxson Dart displayed an impressive performance and threw the most crucial 10-yard touchdown pass to Antwane Well Jr. in helping Ole Miss secure a 28-10 victory against Georgia.

Smart’s offensive line struggled badly throughout the game and left the fans disappointed. But it looks like the defeat has not affected much. Are they not taking things seriously, or are they overconfident? After the game, Georgia Bulldogs safety Jake Pope was seen celebrating their defeat with Ole Miss fans. Wait What? And again, Kirby Smart had to step in and defend his player.

His actions sound stupid, right? The head coach commented the same. “What an idiot. Just stupid. I didn’t see it until today,” The Instagram account of College Sports Only shared the video and captioned it, “Bro had Ole Miss money line. 😂💰.” Jake Pope is clearly seen jumping with Ole Miss fans and celebrating their embarrassing loss. As soon as the video went viral, fans started backlashing. First a fall, they lost that also when the playoffs are just around the corner. How is the head coach going to defend this now?

Throughout the season, we can just see the head coach defending his players. First, it was his quarterback, Carson Beck and now it is Pope, “He’s embarrassed about it. He’s upset about it. That’s obviolsyt a childhood friend of his, they grew up and played with at Buford. Hadn’t seen him in forever. Just not real smart.” Do you buy what the head coach just said? He did not say much on the topic, and it looked like he tried to divert it. He added, “But to be honest with you, I don’t have time to waste energy on that. You know what I’m saying. My focus is on Tennessee. I’m not real worried about that.” Until when Kirby Smart is going to defend his players. Season is heating up and they have no other option but to win next week. Before that, let’s see who stood out for Ole Miss and what HC had to say about their performance.

Kirby Smart recognizes challenging loss and appreciates Ole Miss’s talent

Carson Beck left where he stopped last week and struggled throughout the game. On the other hand, Caden Davis kicked five field goals and helped his team get to a 4-2 SEC record. This was their fifth straight victory. Davis was not the only one who stood out this week. Ulysses Bentey also scored on a 9-yard touchdown run during the first quarter.

Although Pope clebrated the victory, we are sure Kirby Smart wasn’t much happy with the team’s overall performance. This was Georgia’s second loss since 2020, which marks a significant setback for the team. After the defeat, Kirby Smart defended his QB and said he had not received much help from the other players. Did you feel the same?

However, ESPN reported Smart’s comment after the game. He acknowledged Lane Kiffin’s players and said, “I told my team during the week I thought they were the most talented team we’d played.” Smart added, “They really should be undefeated. I know people think that’s not true, but they outplayed us tonight, outcoached us and did a great job.” Beck completed only 20 passes out of 31 and Ole Miss’s defense stopped them at 245 yards. As Smart mentioned, they are now focusing on the next week; it will be interesting to see if Beck bounced back or if he continues to disappoint his fans.
