As we are nearing the end of a roller-coaster season, fans have the Heisman conversation to munch on. The annual chase for the coveted trophy made a lot of key contenders eager to adjust their stacks through some career-high scores in the season. Prodigies like Travis Hunter and Cam Ward have quite successfully done it and stand in affront of the Heisman Watch 2024. The new ace in the hole is Ashton Jeanty, Boise State’s wonder Running Back, who has single-handedly carried the team to a historic height. Jeanty, at one point, surpassed the Colorado Buffs two-way star in the race, but Hunter took charge back in a post-injury resurgence and never looked back. But if you’re a class football fan, you will find a lot of other underrated gems to get a seat at New York’s Heisman ceremony. Ryan Day’s go-to guy, Will Howard, is making a strong case.
In a constructive debate about Michigan and Ohio State, BTN football analyst Jake Butt paused for a minute to give a shoutout to Howard. ”He throws for 300 plus and three or four total touchdowns and repeats that against Oregon in the Big 10 championship. You’re gonna see him in New York, I am just saying.”

Those who know the inside game know that there are a lot of other things going on at the thick of the Heisman committee. Travis Hunter is undoubtedly an unstoppable beast in the race. It’s really beyond words how incredibly the man put on his athletics on a show throughout a season. If you can sleep on a Kansas State bump in between, Hunter has his stat out of the debate.
A whopping 82 receptions for 1036 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 30 total tackles are no joke, but wait, he’s great. Is he the only one? Giving him a tough fight, the Boise State sensation already busted the myth out. But eventually, he failed to stick there with pretty low odds. Now, it’s Ohio State’s Will Howard’s turn. An atypical but not unexpected name to bet a dime for!
However, Butt didn’t reveal something unusual for the first time. The covert Heisman hype for the Buckeyes’ Wonder Kid has been a recurring theme in the CFB discussion for a long. In the past weeks, Ohio State insiders blasted the committee for playing a biased game against Howard and put them at fault for keeping Dilon Gabriel ahead of Will Howard. If 2484 yards with 24 touchdowns doesn’t vouch for at least a recognition in the Heisman talks, we don’t know what does.
But wait, Howard has many on the fellow undiscovered talents list!
Tyler Warren is getting hype for a deserved NYC seat
Penn State makes a strong Heisman trophy push for their incredible Tight End, Tyler Warren. The humble, decent, and ‘stay silent and let your success speak’ kinda guy never wants any spotlight for him. But his coach, his fans, and the veterans alike do. Penn State didn’t do great on their offense in the running season, but they have one Tyler Warren.

Enough for a flex, right? Undoubtedly. The guy bagged a record 808 receiving yards and stood out among the top seven TEs for Penn State receiving yardage leaders. The best thing about Warren is that he’s a team player, in the truest sense.
From sharing how he used to see himself as a freshman, focusing on his work without any outside exaggeration, to leaving the rare chance of being a top scorer for the nation just to keep the team above everything, the guy quickly rose to the good grace of coach Franklin who voted for his boy to be on the Heisman race several times.
Not only him, but opponent Minnesota head coach C P. J. Fleck, after seeing him close in last week’s nail-biting fight, uttered in disbelief, ”I still don’t know why people don’t talk about him for the Heisman Trophy.”

But, you know, do whatever you want. The trophy is coming to Boulder. But at least stars like Will Howard and Tyler Warren getting a spot in the competition would only make it more fair and fun to watch out for.
