NFL legend joins the Arch Manning hype train

Like most of the Longhorms fans, HC Sarkisian belonged to Team Ewers. But fate played an ugly role. With only 12 minutes 19 seconds left in the second quarter, Ewers left and Manning stepped into the gridiron. And how did the HC deal with the change? Sarkisian seemed not to be holding too many hopes from his backup QB and rather tried to keep him lowkey, “We’ll just call the plays we know he’s good at.” But what’s the issue with Manning?

There are certain things, the HC wants the athlete to change about himself. For instance, during the post-game press conference, Sarkisian confessed, “I fight with Arch a lot about him being a little too robotic at times because he wants to be right.” But what’s the only thing that the HC wants him to work on? “I want him [Arch] to play the game because he has so many cool instincts. We saw that on display today,” Sarkisian came up with a request for the current Ewers replacement.

While he has yet to win his HC’s trust, he has got some big shots rooting for him. Besides his uncle Peyton Manning, the 19-year-old has swept the New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees off his feet who strongly believes, “Yours is the guy, yours is going to have a great season they’re going to be National Championship contenders this year and then Arch Manning is going to get his opportunity as a third year player.” Hold onto your helmets, folks, this is just the warm-up, Manning’s about to blitz the Heisman race.
