Is Ashton Jeanty's indecisiveness a sign of immaturity or a strategic move for his NFL future?

The Boise State Broncos RB Ashton Jeanty is now making the headlines for some different reasons. Well, this season has been a rollercoaster ride for him. Started off being the threat to Colorado Buffaloes’ two-way phenom Travis Hunter in the Heisman race, Jeanty himself took a backseat in the competition. So he thought it’s better to focus on the next chapter now that his Heisman dreams are far from coming true.

With this, Jeanty has been the talk of the town for dropping hints in favor of a $7.1 billion NFL giant. But not to worry, folks! No feeling is final for him since a few days back, it was Dallas Cowboys. And what about his dream of being the ‘shortest backfield’ in the NFL and his obsession with the Arizona Cardinals?

Maybe Jeanty is paying the price for pinning his hopes too high. Yes, we know initially his stats were just too irresistible. Remember the Broncos’ game against the Utah State Aggies? Their RB has been the show stealer as he carried the pigskin for 31 TIMES. Impressive, isn’t it? He also came up with 217 yards. However, he suddenly lost his charm, going all quiet against the San Diego State. The Heisman odds did not give him much time and started to take a dip. But Jeanty is in no mood to pester on what he is probably going to lose. Instead, he shifts his focus to something constructive. And right at the moment what’s better than his first stop in the NFL? In an interview with ESPN, Jeanty turned heads by dropping a bomb, “Favorite NFL team? Miami Dolphins. Man, we not doing too hot man.”

But what will make the $7.1 billion program to land the Boise State RB? Even though lately Jeanty has taken a backseat, his stats would be hard for Mike McDaniel to ignore. Well, through nine games, he has a whopping 1,734 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns. On this note, do you know that this makes him only 900 yards away to beat the legendary Barry Sanders’ single-season rushing record? However, his indecisiveness is a big red flag that NFL teams shouldn’t ignore.

How fast Ashton Jeanty is changing tunes

What’s your perspective on:

Is Ashton Jeanty's indecisiveness a sign of immaturity or a strategic move for his NFL future?

Have an interesting take?

A few days back, Jeanty thought himself to be the “perfect” fit for the Dallas Cowboys. He stated, “If I could script it? My family is all in Texas. With my family being there, all the connections, all the relationships, I feel like (Dallas) would be the perfect city to play in.” Yes, he could land with the Big D based on certain factors.

For instance, the Cowboys are at 3-6, and if they keep on losing, they could improve their draft position and they could land in the top five. Maybe, even while the news was yet to reach Dallas about Jeanty showing an interest in the Cowboys, the RB had already changed his choice. This time, he was obsessing over the $4.3 billion Arizona Cardinals. But there was some special interest.

Ashton Jeanty had his intentions clear about joining hands with Jonathan Gannon’s program. He came off with a clever statement without revealing Arizona’s name, he said “I could get down with Kyler [Murray]. You know we’re going to be the shortest backfield in the NFL.” Looks like now he is no longer interested in playing with the shortest QB in the NFL, Kyler Murray. But he better make up his mind, before the programs strike him off for being Mr. Whimsical.
