“Family is everything” is Lane Kiffin’s take on what loved ones mean to him. As the current coach of the Ole Miss Rebels, Kiffin has always been widely seen as a dedicated coach. But beyond the Xs and Os, Kiffin has also shown that he’s a true family man. In one of his Instagram stories, Lane Kiffin took his family for a ride around the football field during practice. It was a cheerful moment that showed how he can manage between being a coach, a husband, and a father.
This dedication to family isn’t just about spending time together; it’s also about teaching his kids the value of hard work and commitment. Kiffin has always stressed how he wants his children to look at what he does and know how much work is involved in success.
“I want them to see that nothing comes easy,” he said, and this approach has shaped his parenting style. He has faced ups and downs at different stages of his career. While at Ole Miss, he has been balancing his work and his family.

Meet Lane Kiffin’s family
Kiffin was born in Bloomington, raised in Minnesota, and comes from a sports family. His father, Monte Kiffin, was an ex-NFL defensive coach and an analyst. However, Lane’s mother, Robin Lane, cared for the family. Lane also has a brother, Chris, who follows his father in this line of work and is now coaching linebackers with the Houston Texans. Football is definitely in the Kiffin family’s veins.

Lane has had a very active and dynamic personal life. He married Layla in 2004, and the couple welcomed three children: Knox, Landry, and Persley. They officially separated in 2016 but still respect each other and continue to co-parent. Landry shared an Instagram story during the 2024 Rebel Road Trip, highlighting a touching moment where she and her dad supported a young fan through heart transplant surgery.
For National Girlfriend Day, Lane posted on the X handle displaying his lovely moments with his girlfriend, Sally Rychlak. These personal connections seem to fuel Lane’s drive to excel as the head coach of the Rebel. Ole Miss isn’t just getting a coach who knows how to win games—they’re getting a leader who knows how to win at life, too.
