Kalen DeBoer is all ready to spread his wings for his debut season. But it won’t be as easy as it may seem! The Alabama Crimson Tide’s new HC has already found himself in a hot seat. Here, Miami (OH) HC Chuck Martin deserves all the credit. After all, he is the one who has dragged DeBoer into a freshly brewed controversy.

And what’s the hoopla all about? Martin pointed a finger at the new Alabama HC tagging him for ‘illegal recruiting.’ However, when approached with this matter, DeBoer did not keep shut. But was his reply fiery enough? No, not at all. This was enough to blow the minds of the CFB fans.

The antics surrounded the Miami kicker, Graham Nicholson, who flipped from Martin’s squad and joined hands with the Crimson Tide via the portal during the offseason. Of course, the Miami HC was left heartbroken. He then blasted Alabama for the move. “We didn’t lose him, he’s at Alabama. We know exactly where he’s at…Alabama stole our kicker. They illegally recruited our kicker and stole him from us and that’s a fact,” attacked the furious Martin. While the CFB world was in dire need of a DeBoer response, here came his reply, “I don’t know anything about that, I guess, that comment. He entered the portal and we reached out to him, so that’s how it goes, right? We did everything that we were supposed to.” 

From his zen-like reaction, it’s pretty evident that the Crimson Tide HC is set to take the heat in honor of Nicholson. Why wouldn’t he? After all, the player has been the No.1 kicker in the country and had the Lou Groza Award under his name. And that’s okay. What’s not okay for most of the CFB fans is DeBoer’s soft serve response.

The fans took to the comment section to share their take on DeBoer’s half-hearted comeback. The fact that the Alabama HC has been in touch with Nicholson even before the portal started left a fan surprised, “He didn’t deny what happened before the portal…”Here came a hilarious comparison from another fan who held the kicker responsible for disloyal acts to approach DeBoer while still a part of Martin’s squad. “when your ex asks you if you started seeing a new girl before you broke up.”

The Crimson Tide HC’s response felt flat against the Miami HC’s fiery jab that left a fan to question Saban’s successor’s power, “Miami coach makes spirited accusation bammer coach responds with half-asleep, predictable mumble. why did they even ask him.” Now that DeBoer accepted the fact, a CFB enthusiast is eagerly waiting for some more drama since it calls for an in-depth inquiry, “Doubt it… I bet they launch an investigation bc of what that coach said.”

Amidst the DeBoer blame game, a fan stood in support of the Alabama HC lassoing Kadyn Proctor’s flip from Alabama to Iowa, “So tampering wasnt an issue when Kayden Proctor openly spoke about Iowa doing it. But now that Alabama is allegedly doing it people have issues.” The laid-back tone was enough for a fan to miss GOAT Nick Saban even more, “Weak response. Nick Saban would’ve said. ‘Aight, so what if we did and so what if we didn’t.’ ” Let’s see if Nicholson, the reason DeBoer was the human shield, can make the HC puff out his chest.
