Is Deion Sanders Jr. right to call out Shedeur and the team, or is he being too harsh?

If you are a Buffs fan, you are probably on Cloud 9 right now. With what Deion Sanders and his boys managed to get done against a run-heavy team like UCF is quite commendable. However, you better hold your horses cause with great power comes great responsibilities. Deion Sanders Jr. has always been the “real” dude of the family. While most of the time you will find him behind the camera, he does come to the spotlight every once in a while to either defend his family or give them the reality check they need so badly.

Back on October 1, Deion Sanders Jr. took to his Instagram to remind Shedeur Sanders and Deion Sanders that there is still a long way to go. “Truthfully, we still haven’t done sh–, we still don’t deserve to be ranked, we still have a loooonnnggg way to go. They’ll build you up to break you right back down. Stay starving,” Deion Jr. noted in his post. We saw what overconfidence could do. When the boys won against NDSU during the Buffs season opener, they thought Huskers would be an easy game as well. Look what happened and how Matt Rhule and his team managed to disassemble Deion Sanders and his so-called “revamped” O-line.

Heck, even back then Bucky (Deion Jr.) kept it real. On September 9, Bucky took to his YouTube to post a video with the title, “Colorado Gets Embarrassed By Nebraska: COMPLETELY EMBARRASSED.” And the fans loved the brutal take and honesty regarding this. We get it. Coach Prime and Shedeur Sanders managed to dominate against the Knights. However, it is also true that everyone had thought this game would be another Huskers revisit for Colorado.

But, with the 48-21 win, the Buffs are on their way to probably become the next big thing in the Big 12. While the reality check by Bucky is very important and needed to keep Shedeur and Coach Prime in the right state of mind, we also cannot skip over the fact that the team has shown massive improvement.

Something that we started noticing since the 2nd half of the Huskers game was the Buffs defensive line being very useful. When Robert Livingston took over the defensive coordinator post, people had noted that this would be a big gamble on Deion’s end. It paid off.

Have an interesting take?

If we go back and look at where the Buffs stood this time around back in 2023, you’d notice that not only the O-line, but the D-line as well was tragic. Allowing more than 35 points in almost every game was holding back Deion Sanders in a big way. After Livingston’s magic this year, that number went down to barely 30 points.

Go back and check the Rocky Mountain Showdown tape and the Baylor time. Against the Rams, the defensive line had such an amazing hold over the offense. Also, you cannot forget Travis Hunter and his magic. This guy made history against the Rams with 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 13 catches. And against Baylor? This dude managed to grab the game-winning fumble over time.

Also, if we come back to the Knights, the boys managed to stand neck to neck with a team that is known for their rushing and running game. UCF QB and RB are a force to reckon with, but Deion’s offensive line and defense handled them perfectly. The game also solidified Hunter as the perfect Heisman candidate.

With a week off, we gotta wait and watch how Deion and the Buffs manage to perform against Kansas State back on October 13. Will Coach Prime and his team keep up the same momentum and continue their winning streak or will they falter and the Buffs empire will come crumbling down? Let us know what you think.
