Colorado fulfilled their fans’ hopes with their impressive win against North Dakota State on Thursday night at Folsom Field. NDSU head coach Tim Polasek, who is a former quarterback, voiced his admiration for Shedeur Sanders before the game. He called the 22-year-old star signal caller “impressive” and believed that “he’s the best player that NDSU has played yet.” True to his belief, Shedeur showcased his abilities as a QB.
Colorado players are in high spirits after today’s big win against NDSU. Deion Sanders’ relentless effort to strengthen the Buffs’ O-line this offseason has paid off. And now that the win is for their taking, Shedeur gets a little cocky at his post-game conference speech.
Shedeur Sanders particularly nodded his head to the Buffs’ offensive line, which had been training all offseason to help him achieve this kind of result. Taking to his conference platform, he took a daring take on the offense. An X post on August 29 reported Shedeur’s statement on the O-line, which read, “They had an incentive; they did what they were supposed to do today.”

The first half of the game looked devastating for the Buffs when Shedeur suffered an injury. It didn’t look good on Colorado’s offensive line, but that wouldn’t be the pending outcome of the Buffs season opener. With help and protection from the O-line and the extremely remarkable performance of the Buffs stars like Shedeur, Travis Hunter, and Jimmy Horn, the Buffs have a reason to celebrate as they triumphed 31-26 over the Bisons for a great first impression.

Folsom Field had an attendance of 49,438 people cheering for their team. Though it didn’t sell out like all the other games after Deion Sanders’ arrival, the quality of the game stole the spotlight. Colorado didn’t begin the game on a very hopeful note, as NDSU scored the first points with a field goal. But Shedeur Sanders led the game with high vigor and initiated incredible plays from his receivers, recording 445 yards and four TDs by completing 26 of 34 passes.
Three of these touchdowns were received by Travis Hunter, who became the star of the show with his unbelievable play. His final stats are seven catches for 132 yards and three touchdowns. The other TD was caught by Jimmy Horn Jr., who caught seven passes for 198 yards. It’s a great foundation for Colorado as they seek a place in the playoffs as a returning member of the Big 12.
