Since Bill Belichick took up the charge as head coach of UNC, he has been making waves in the football world. Some experts said he had never coached a college football team or that the deal wouldn’t work out, while some guys said he would bring a championship here as well. The six-time Super Bowl champion took it as a challenge and is busy making strategic moves at Chapel Hill. But while he is fully into CFB for the first time, Elon Musk‘s AI, Grok, has predicted how Bill Belichick’s upcoming year will be at UNC.
When an X page, CFB Home, asked Grok why Bill Belichick wouldn’t be successful at UNC, its predictions shocked the heck out of everyone. Grok answered, “Bill Belichick may struggle at UNC due to no college football experience, especially in recruiting, which is vital for success.” After dropping the potential reality for the future, Grok added, “At 72, the demands of college coaching could drain his energy. His NFL style might not fit college athletes, and adapting to NIL deals and the transfer portal could be tough.” Well, in some aspects, the predictions may turn out to be true.

It’s true that Belichick has never coached college football. In his own words, “I’ve always wanted to coach in college football, and it just never really worked out,” Belichick said. He also added that he had some good years in the NFL, so that was ‘OK.’ But while Belichick was connecting the CFB dots with his highly successful NFL career, it’s important to note that there are fundamental differences in coaching style and management.
In the big leagues, if you are a head coach, you only worry about getting results on the field with the ultimate aim of winning the Super Bowl. The HC primarily works with rosters, player injuries, and mostly on-field strategy. To put it in one line, head coaches can focus 100% on the gridiron at any point in time. But in college football, you deal with recruitment, developing student-athletes into beasts with comparatively fewer funds than the NFL.
At the NFL level, players are already professionals and skilled in their respective positions, and you just shape them into perfection like a potter. There’s no doubt about Belichick’s six Super Bowl rings in the NFL, but only time will tell how he manages UNC football over the next five years.
But while Grok is doubting Belichick’s CFB future, NFL stars aren’t even thinking about it after visiting. The reactions we got from young prospects are making headlines before Belichick’s new season has even started! Wanna know what future stars said about Belichick and UNC? Let’s dive deep to find out!

One of the top players to visit Chapel Hill was none other than Vodney Cleveland from A. H. Parker High School, who has received offers from almost every top team. Cleveland said he had a great time meeting Bill Belichick and the officials at Chapel Hill. Talking about the visit, he said, “It opened my eyes a lot. Sitting down with Coach Belichick was great. Seeing how they run things and how much they value their 2026 class … it was impressive.” He also added, “I’m the No. 1 defensive lineman on their board and a top priority for their 2026 class,” while hoping, “They will develop me and have me ready for the NFL.” But he isn’t the only one.

Parker Pritchett, an OT, couldn’t resist talking about his Chapel Hill visit. He recalled, “Coach Belichick said they only recruit players they know can go to the NFL. Hearing that made a big impression on me—and it makes me want to work even harder than I already do.” That can surely be a big boost for this offensive tackle. And wait, this isn’t the end of the story.
ATH O’Mari Johnson from Mississippi admitted, “[Bill Belichick is] definitely a coach who knows football and what it takes to perform at the next level. His love for the game is contagious, and knowing he’s interested in you as an athlete is mind-blowing. This was an experience I’ll never forget.” So, with even just three players’ reactions, we can already get a sense of what the upcoming year is gonna be like for UNC.
