With Ewers out, is this Arch Manning's golden chance to shine and secure his legacy?

With back-to-back wins, the Texas Longhorns are moving strongly toward the national championship. Everything was moving smoothly for the Longhorns in the 49-point victory over UTSA until Quinn Ewers had to leave the game in the second quarter due to an injury. Ewers has been a key player for the Longhorns since 2022. Injuries are part of every athlete’s career, and the 21-year-old quarterback made way for Arch Manning, another popular quarterback from Texas.

However, ESPN has tweeted the latest update on Ewers’s health and confirmed that his injury isn’t as serious as initially feared. The tweet said, “He’s likely to miss the Louisiana Monroe game this week, but is “week to week” after leaving the UTSA game with what Steve Sarkisian termed an abdominal strain.” It is said that Ewer’s condition will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis. Fortunately, it is a good sign for the Longhorns and their fans. However, he is expected to be sidelined for the upcoming game against ULM, which is scheduled for 21st September.

Meanwhile, Arch Manning has a golden opportunity to shine. He has done it in the last game; similarly, he needs to step up and continue playing with the same intent. His impressive performance against UTA, where he threw for 233 yards and scored four touchdowns, has already demonstrated his readiness and potential.

Many college football programs are struggling as their key players are injured, but it is vice versa for the Longhorns. This opportunity to lead the team will not only boost Manning’s confidence but will also provide a significant experience for the Longhorns as the game moves forward and the Longhorns need to be prepared for tough opponents ahead.

Impact of Arch Manning’s performance on the Heisman Trophy race

It is week 3 of college football, but the race for the Heisman trophy is already heating up. Ewers’s injury opened the door for Arch Manning in week 3 against UTSA. Without giving a second thought, Manning has seized the opportunity. He not only led the team to a dominating 56-7 victory on Saturday, but he has also made his way into the Heisman Trophy race.

He was in the headlines for a long time after his impressive performance, where he threw for 233 yards and scored the most important touchdowns. Manning also added a 67-yard rushing touchdown. Manning displayed his skill and agility in the crucial game and stepped up when the team needed him the most. His remarkable performance has helped him to be in the Heisman Trophy race with prominent players like Travis Hunter, Miller Moss, and a few others. But sadly, as Manning has steeped up, Ewers’s hopes of winning the Heisman Trophy this year are fading away.
