What happened to Florida State? A team ranked 10th in the preseason AP poll struggled to secure its first win till week 4! FSU had one of the worst season-opening games against Georgia Tech, followed by a week 1 loss to Boston College. Add a non-conference loss to the Memphis Tigers. To pour salt on Mike Norvell‘s wounds, one of his 4-star commits, McCutcheon, shifted to the Texas Longhorns and joined Steve Sarkisian. Following that, one analyst said, “McCutcheon had a blast; he thought the atmosphere was electric. He could feel that SEC vibe through the stadium and he loved the wide receiver play, but that didn’t stop Texas.” Ultimately, Norvell suffered the loss of a key player. And now he’s facing the same situation again!
UGA’s Benjamin Wolk shared big news on the busy Saturday, saying Ousmane Kromah has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs amidst rumors of him committing to FSU. In his ‘X’ post, he wrote, “COMMIT ALERT” Ousmane Kromah, the best uncommitted offensive player in Georgia, has chosen the Bulldogs over Auburn + Florida State. This is a monumental first win for Josh Crawford & Co.” With that, another potential recruit slipped out of Mike Norvell’s hands.

After his last unofficial visit to Athens, Ousmane, Kromah visited Florida State and Auburn, and the wind was blowing in favor of his committing to FSU. However, Ousmane Kromah made his commitment decision last month but because of Hurricane Helene’s winds and bad weather last weekend, it stopped him from moving his decision to a week later.
He decided to stick with his home state roots and committed to Georgia from a school ceremony, snubbing FSU and Auburn from the list. Kromah is the 22nd commitment in Georgia’s 2025 class, the eighth top 100 pledge for UGA’s next year’s cycle. But do you know what inspired Kromah to make this decision? Let’s look at all the reasons for his commitment to Georgia.

Why did Ousmane Kromah join Georgia Football?
A few days ago, Ousmane Kromah appeared before the media and hinted at his commitment choices. “The fact that I hung out with the players and they are like brothers,” Kromah said, referring to his visit to Athens.
“They check on each other and they never go to one place from home by themselves,” he explained, explaining how Georgia’s family-like environment created a soft spot in his heart.

He talked about the biggest motivation in his life. And that’s his mom. “It’s my mom, for sure. I want her to have a good, peaceful life for her older years.” Furthermore, Kromah highlighted the fact that he wanted to go to a place that felt like home. “A family-oriented place where I can feel comfortable, and a place where I can feel taken care of.” Now that he chooses Georgia for his upcoming journey, it answers a few things. Georgia came out feeling home-like to him.
Apart from that, as per 247 rankings, the four-start prospect Kromah is ranked as the 84th-best player in the country, the 5th-best running back in his class, and the 11th-best player in Georgia State. Losing a talented recruit in the midst of the season was shocking for FSU but turned out to be great news for UGA.
