Carson Beck has been a player to watch out for since the beginning of a head-turner season for Georgia. The athlete ended up landing in deep water after his initial interception-riddled performance. During some sloppy games against Alabama, Florida, and Texas, Beck mounted an embarrassing record of scoring the highest number of interceptions as an SEC player since 2020. He had scored six more interceptions than his entire 2023 season. But that was not it. After a rushing peak season injury, will he be out for good for the remainder of the season? Insiders’ latest report came as a myth buster.
While Georgia is only three wins away from getting its third College Football Playoff championship in four years, the Bulldogs’ chances might suffer as the health of their top signal-caller is put through scrutiny. Insiders Daniel Monroe and Clint Samblin judged the legitimacy of his ‘no-return’ buzz and provided an eye-opening update.
”Gunner Stockton probably is the quarterback for Georgia, heading into this game most likely, but to say that’s definitive. Clint, it would probably be an overreaction because I don’t, I haven’t heard anything definitive about Carson Beck, I haven’t read any reports from a surgeon about how. I haven’t read anything about Carson Beck and his plans to prepare for the NFL draft. I haven’t read anything about what his agent is saying about a timetable for recovery to put the minds of NFL GMs at ease and let them know that his client will be ready and able to participate in drills in April,” said Monroe.

‘Georgia is “preparing to play the College Football Playoff without” Beck, as ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Thursday. It would be obvious as Beck is currently focusing on getting his throwing arm in place through surgery. He is likely to miss the Sugar Bowl on the new year’s day, but apart from that, assuring anything at this point would be an early statement.
However, if we take out Georgia from the picture for a second, the whole ordeal means more for Beck’s future. This is supposed to be the year for Beck to make a name for himself. Before the season started, many mock drafts were putting him as a first-round pick for the 2025 NFL Draft. Of course, his performances didn’t help, but on his day, Beck is a quality quarterback. The injury has disrupted his post-season plans.

Beck returning to his classic form and losing it to an arguably season-ending injury, too, ahead of the playoffs, has definitively been a punch in the gut for Smart and Georgia. But the hitch around Beck is not anything foreign to the Dawgs.

The Georgia QB messed with the turnovers. After a lot of heat coming from all across the nation, he turned the page with a great comeback and added some great numbers to his resume. Momentary silence for the critics! But it seemed he had some issues written in his stars. The taste of success remained a short-lived flick. During the SEC championship game against Texas, he ended up taking a blow to his arm and leaving it to his backup, Gunner Stockton, to take care of an overwhelming second half. He only returned for a game-winning handoff.
Coach Smart has long been his lone supporter in the mix. No matter what, Smart never intends to move on from Beck. Rather, he defended his offensive woes with a better ‘decision maker’ argument.

Beck, till now, hasn’t slept on Beck. In a recent pre-game interview, the coach phenom noted that Beck had a successful MRI, but they have yet to get the report. He attended the team meetings, actively rehabbed, and embraced the process of healing with much seriousness. The team has to dig out more about his progress and status before reaching a decision on his future ahead in the season.
