Can Jaxson Dart silence critics and outshine Georgia's defense, or will he crumble under pressure?

The Ole Miss Rebels are coming off an impressive win against Arkansas, dominating with a 32-point lead. This victory not only solidified their position as strong contenders for the playoffs but also left a lasting impact on their opponents. However, recent performances by star quarterback Jaxson Dart have raised some eyebrows. With a tough matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs on the horizon, a former Georgia player has publicly questioned Dart’s abilities. Looks like there’s no shortage of drama, and the upcoming SEC game is going to be a spicy showdown!

Today, ESPN featured a lively conversation between three sports icons: Maria Taylor and former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning. During the chat, Maria, a former NCAA volleyball player for the Georgia Bulldogs, couldn’t resist taking a playful jab at Eli Manning, even though Peyton was the one speaking most of the time. It was all in good fun, as Taylor couldn’t pass up an opportunity to tease the Ole Miss alum with the Bulldogs set to face the Rebels. “Eli, I can guarantee you, Jackson Dart’s not going to throw for 515 yards against the Georgia defense. It’s just not going to happen,” she said, poking at the Rebels’ current QB, Jaxson Dart. It seems Maria isn’t convinced that Jaxson can maintain his impressive passing game against the No. 2 Bulldogs.

Well, there is no denying that Jaxson Dart’s performance this season has been a bit inconsistent. In their week 9 game against the LSU Tigers, Jaxson Dart completed 24 out of 42 passes for 284 passing yards, with a touchdown. But the highlight of that match was Jaxson getting sacked six times through the game, which was also his season-high record. Now the team will need to protect him better against the Bulldogs’ strong defense.

Maria Taylor is not wrong about the Georgia Bulldogs’ defense. In their faceoff against the Texas Longhorns, the team held them to just 259 yards of total offense. Now, this is just half of what Jaxson Dart threw against Arkansas last week. However, you can’t ignore the fact that Jaxson and the Rebels are also holding up a strong offense this season, which might give an edge to the team. In fact, Dart’s recent showings have landed him some breathtaking records.

Jaxson Dart has been a key contributor to Ole Miss’s remarkable performance this season. Not only did the young quarterback take the Rebels to a record of 7 wins and 2 losses in the season, but he also contributed a lot to the team’s offense. However, Jaxson finally got his big break after his exceptional performance against Arkansas last week. During the game, Jaxson recorded 515 yards and rushed for 47 with seven touchdowns against the team, but that’s not the best part. After the game, Dart was named the AP Poll national player of the week.

Moreover, Jaxson Dart’s combined 562 yards broke the school record of legendary player Archie Manning, which was set to 540 yards against Alabama in the year 1969. Even Jaxson was quite amazed over his recent accomplice; expressing his emotions, he said, “It is pretty cool and unique, but all glory goes to God.”

It’s impressive that Jaxson remains humble even after setting a new career high. He also praised the Rebels’ offensive coordinator, Charlie Weis Jr. for his effort towards the team. And let’s see if this ‘humble’ Jaxson can prove Maria Taylor wrong with his performance against Georgia.
