James Rickards 4-star DL Jalen Wiggins is all set for the upcoming Notre Dame vs Florida State game! After making their offer in April, the Fighting Irish have managed to lure this coveted prospect, who signed with Florida back in January. And now that he’s in South Bend, it’s going to depend on Marcus Freeman and his team to mold the outcome of Wiggins’ official visit.
On3 Recruits is back with some insider take on Jalen Wiggins and his college football future. In a new YouTube episode on November 8, Steve Wiltfong joined Josh Newberg and delivered his thoughts on the Florida commit saying, “I think Notre Dame has really been trending up for Jalen Wiggins over the last couple of months. He’s a guy that really values what Notre Dame brings to the table off the field.”

As Wiltfong reported, Jalen Wiggins is set to attend Notre Dame’s upcoming game against the Seminoles on November 10. An enticing program in their own right but Wiggins’ upcoming attendance could be proof that he has a soft spot in his heart for Notre Dame. A Tallahassee native committing to the Florida Gators isn’t a surprising move. But the interesting thing, as Wiltfong pointed out, is this — “Jalen Wiggins committed to the Gators but he’s from the city of Tallahassee. So coming up for this Notre Dame game, there’s some layers to this.”

But Wiggins labels this visit as coincidence, saying that “that kind of popped out of nowhere… This is the [visit] that popped up best as far as me not having a game and being able to get here.” But we’ll have to wait till Signing Day in December as he affirmed his choice to drop his decision then. Still, there are more interesting prospects who’ll be visiting South Bend on Saturday.
Notre Dame attracts big names to Florida State game
The potential to lure Jalen Wiggins isn’t the only threat that Notre Dame is giving power to 4 teams this season. The Fighting Irish, who are 7-1 into the season, came off a strong 51-14 victory over Navy and currently stands at No. 10 on the AP Poll ranking. In addition to the defensive prospect, they’re also expecting the presence of 4-star WR Derek Meadows who’s committed to LSU and highly pursued by Michigan.

Notre Dame not only has good chances to flip 2025 commits but they’re also tuning themselves for the future. Another elite player who will be present at Saturday’s game is Cal DL Simote Katoanga of the 2026 recruiting class. This visit will mark his third trip to South Bend. In the upcoming game, the Fighting Irish should be able to dominate over FSU given their 1-8 into the season. This game could affect several commitments, but hopefully, all is in good hands as they enter the game as a 27.8-point favorite.
