Can FSU and SMU handle the chaos Hurricane Helene might bring to their Week Five showdown?

We were storming through a hyped-up week 5 of college football with a lot of intriguing games on the plate without knowing that a real storm would hit the coast of Florida by then. Hurricane Helene has made landfall today and is pacing forward toward Georgia with a speed of 70 mph, leaving the schedule in serious jeopardy. However, not all games would be under the red eye of the calamity, for obvious geographical reasons. Rather, we will see changes in a few games by the weekend. The programs based in Florida will rightfully be on the center stage of the defacement.

On Friday morning, the Appalachian State-Liberty game set for Saturday won’t emanate. The status of the ACC matchup between Stanford and Clemson Tigers is also up in the air after the flight service collapsed. The slew of Florida home games will be the real sufferer. UCF is looking to host Colorado in Orlando on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, and the Miami Hurricanes will welcome Virginia Tech in a high-stale clash on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET. While there is still no postponement notice for both the games, the weather keeps getting alarming. However, the Gators are just taking it easy as they are in the middle of their bye week. Elsewhere on the chart, Florida State will lace up their shoes SMU, but thankfully, the venue is in Dallas, so the home state catastrophe might not be a pain in the neck for the Seminoles.

The lives around a major area of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas have severely been in trouble. The college football schedule alteration will only add to the more drastic agony like mass panic, and extensive power cuts since Thursday night. However, the FSU is very likely to move to their first true road game against the SMU Mustangs quite seamlessly, as they have already altered their travel plan as a precaution against a possible hitch.

The Seminoles coach extends solidarity to the affected people amidst the game tensity

The Seminoles were ready to take off to Dallas on Friday morning, but amidst the dreadful Hurricane impacts, they shifted it on Thursday, a team spokesman announced on behalf of the team that the breaking travel plan included a bus trip to Jacksonville and then fly by charter to Dallas. They’re not only just adjusting their plan to maintain their high spirits heading to a crucial week 5 fight, but coach Norvell has sent heartfelt thoughts and condolences to all the victims.

On Wednesday evening, Florida State coach Mike Norvell said, ”It’s life. We get the opportunity and the blessing to play this game, to be able to be at this great place. We have so much focus on the game. But there are going to be lives that are absolutely impacted for a lifetime. Praying that everything goes as smooth and as easy as possible for all that will be affected.”
