Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart couldn’t believe what happened in Week 7 at Tiger Stadium. Dejection tinged his voice and face when he appeared for his post-game speech. He told reporters, “I don’t understand how we lost — I think just that first half we didn’t put points up. Could’ve had a bunch of momentum (early). I’m still trying to think through it.” But fans aren’t thrilled with how the Rebels lost two games under his lead that even a replacement hunt is surfacing.
Guess who the desired replacement is? It’s none other than Lane Kiffin’s own son, Knox Kiffin who is on track to become a fine QB. In response to Knox Kiffin’s IG post, a super fan made an interesting plea. Commenting on the post of the young QB in action, they wrote, “Can you throw a deep b-ll better than Dart? If so tell your dad to put you in.”

Knox Kiffin, coming from a family of football legends like his late grandfather Monte Kiffin and his father Lane Kiffin, has already shown off his impressive arm strength and accuracy. After his electric performance at SMU Dallas Showcase, the Palos Verdes HS QB earned an offer from SMU to add to other offers from Mississippi and Arkansas. But on the practical side, it’s not happening, at least not anytime soon. The 15-year-old is part of the 2028 class and even if Lane Kiffin happens to still be coaching the Rebels in 2028, there’s another problem.
During an interview with Inside The Rebels, Knox Kiffin revealed that he has no interest in playing for his father at Ole Miss. Instead, he would prefer facing him as an opponent. But as of now, he’s focused on his first role as a true high school freshman this fall. He said, “I want to learn a lot going into this high school year and get some varsity reps in and just grow into my frame. I’m going to keep working and try to get more offers.” While we’re happy for the rising star, Lane Kiffin has to deal with this painful loss as their CFP hopes come crashing down.
Jaxson Dart regrets the LSU game loss

Ole Miss already lost a shocking game to Kentucky in Week 5. But many viewed the following 27-3 win against South Carolina as another foundation for a winning streak. Unfortunately, their CFP hopes hit a hard block when LSU unexpectedly took the lead to defeat them in an OT 29-26 battle on Saturday. Echoing Lane Kiffin’s feelings, Dart’s shock continued as he added, “I don’t understand how we lost. It just never felt like we were going to lose until it happened… just shock.”
Perhaps one of the reasons they trailed was losing their key player in the second half. WR Tre Harris left the game and was on the sidelines due to an injury after recording seven catches for 102 yards and a touchdown. Jaxson Dart gave his nod of approval to Cayden Lee who filled in for Harris with nine receptions for 132 yards saying, “I feel like Cayden played really well.” His regret? — “Wish I could’ve thrown the football a few throws better and just one more score changes the game.” Jaxson Dart completed the game with 24 of 42 passes for 284 passing yards, a touchdown, and a season-high six sacks. Can they recover from this big fall?
