Deion Sanders always treats players like his own family. The players’ headaches are now part of his problems, too. The ideal example is Colorado WR Jimmy Horn Jr., who is tangled in a family soup. All because of his father, Jimmy Horn Sr., who has been put behind bars. Deion could no longer maintain silence. Instead, the Buffs HC addressed the audience with a special appeal. And guess what? Deion got a massive response from the Buffs family, who too agreed with what Deion had to say about freeing Jr.’s father. After all, the WR must be in his best form to help Colorado land it big in the Big 12 race.

Deion often has a message for his fans and players. Taking a break from the practice sessions, Coach Prime faced the camera for Well Off Media. The Buffs HC has cared extremely about his players. His WR Horn Jr. has been in deep trouble for quite some time. But why? The player’s father, Horn Sr., has been in prison on drug-related charges. However, the Buffs HC has some special appeal now. He started with, “For those that are truly involved your honor I just want to tell you candidly that I’m praying for Jimmy Horn senior who’s been incarcerated a multitude of years.”

Amidst such an emotionally tumultuous time, the WR has taken some time off to meet his father before the 2024 season. Meanwhile, Deion is not making this big statement hang in the air. Instead, he places his bet on Jimmy Horn Sr after being convinced by his transformation, “I just want you to know I’ve talked to Jimmy Horn Sr and truly he has served a multitude of years. He has repented of what has transpired and he is truly a different man.”

Other than this, Deion has a bigger motive. He wants his players to fully commit themselves to the program with their best physical and mental version, “I just wish to God you could see in your heart an opportunity that he could come out of incarceration and have a chance to resume his fatherly responsibility in which he was very very good at.” And with this, Deion’s got the Buffs crowd backing him.

Fans push to release Horn Jr.’s father walking on Deion’s path

Horn Jr. is a phenom in himself. Over the past two seasons, he has registered 67 interceptions for 959 yards paired with four touchdowns. His contribution to the special teams with 16 kick returns remains unparalleled. Outside the gridiron, too, he has been quite a name. He had also pursued a degree in communication from the University of Colorado on the academic front. It is painful now that he has been deprived of his father’s guidance.

The fans thus have joined Deion’s move and shared their thoughts in the comment section. A fan pleaded for Horn Jr.’s father’s release for the 2024 season, and his presence from the stands would work like magic on the player. “FREE MR HORN!!!!!!! He needs to be cheering j5 in the stands!!!” Another fan too pitches in with the same demand to give Horn Jr the chance to showcase his skills in front of his father, “Yes  GOD praying Jimmy Sr home soon  free that Mann.” 

Known for being the phenom on the Buffs roster, he left a fan emotional as he shared his good wishes: “My heart goes out to Jimmy’s family, definitely hoping and praying for his father’s release. Go Buffs!!” “Free Jimmy Horn Sr.  Lord gots you,” support poured to insist on preserving Jr.’s relationship with his father’s care.

It is more remarkable that the 2024 season is probably the WR’s last chapter in college football, “Praying for Jimmy Horn Sr and Jr. People can change and be rehabilitated. I know it will mean the world to Jimmy Horn jr  to have his father see him play in person before he heads to the NFL.” Let’s see if Deion’s appeal restores Horn Jr.’s father to his role.
