Home/College Football

They say the college football recruiting game ain’t for the weak, and right now, there’s a battle brewing that’s got two powerhouse programs sweating. We’re talking about Alabama and Nebraska, two giants of the game, both locked in on 6’4, 205-pound four-star wideout outta Carrollton, Georgia, who is sitting on 35 offers like a king on a throne. And he just dropped a major hint that’s got both Kalen DeBoer and Matt Rhule watching their backs.

Enter Ryan Mosley, the No.8 wide-out in the country. Mosley’s recruitment has been nothing short of a movie, and Georgia—yeah, they’re in the mix too. The Dawgs and Kirby Smart rolled out the red carpet for him, and he’s been feeling the love. And lately, the word ‘home’ keeps slipping out of his mouth every time he talks about Georgia. “It feels like home,” Mosley said about UGA after his latest spring visit.

And when a top-tier recruit starts using the ‘H’ word, you know things are getting real. But Bama and Nebraska ain’t backing down. Both programs are pulling every trick in the book to land him, and with official visits lined up, the stakes couldn’t be higher. But let’s keep it real—when a recruit starts calling a place ‘home,’ that’s like an engagement ring before the proposal. Alabama and Nebraska better come with their A-game, or they’re watching this one slip away.

The Dawgs’ receiver room has done a full-blown backflip under Coley’s watch, and Mosley sees that. “Noah Thomas and Zach Branch will be dangerous this season,” he said. “Can’t wait to watch them. The receiver room is loaded with a lot of talent.” But Georgia’s not just selling Mosley on its past success—it’s making him feel like a future star. His last visit to Athens? Courtside seats at a basketball game, one-on-one time with the coaching staff, and Kirby Smart showing his usual brand of intensity. “Kirby sees everything so nobody is safe, not even his refs,” Mosley said, laughing. “Making sure they are seeing what he’s seeing.” That’s the kind of detail that separates Georgia from the pack—it’s not just about recruiting, it’s about making sure players feel like they’re part of something bigger.

Mosley’s got official visits lined up all over the country. But you best believe he’s paying attention to how each program develops wideouts. When Alabama offered him back in March 2024, it lit a fire under him. “Alabama playing freshmen is a big deal,” he noted. “That stuck with me.” And that’s exactly why the Crimson Tide is still in the fight. They’ve proven they’ll put young talent on the field, and Mosley’s got the skillset to make an immediate impact. But is that enough to make him turn down what Georgia is offering?

Then there’s Nebraska, the wildcard in all this. Matt Rhule ain’t playing around—he officially offered Mosley back in January and has been pushing hard ever since. Nebraska might not have the same championship pedigree as Georgia or Alabama, but Rhule’s building something, and Mosley clearly sees the vision. A visit to Lincoln is set for June 20. And if the Huskers can sell him on a WR1 role, things could get real interesting.

Mosley had 55 catches for 848 yards and 12 touchdowns last season, and he’s only getting better. He compares his game to DK Metcalf—big, fast, and straight-up dominant. “I’d say DK Metcalf,” he said. “Being that guy that can run routes. Run by you. Go up and get the first down on fourth down if I need it.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Georgia's 'home' advantage enough to fend off Alabama and Nebraska's aggressive recruiting tactics?

Have an interesting take?

Georgia might have the home-field advantage, but Alabama and Nebraska aren’t going down without a fight. As Mosley gears up for his summer visits, all eyes will be on where he puts down roots. And if history tells us anything, the biggest clues won’t come from what he says—it’ll be from where he keeps showing up.

Kirby Smart and Georgia go all-out to keep a prized defensive recruit from slipping to SEC rivals

While Georgia’s offense is doing the most to secure Mosley, Kirby Smart and his squad are also putting in overtime on the defensive side. The Dawgs all in on locking in another top-tier recruit—Khamari Brooks. A freakishly athletic edge rusher from just 20 minutes outside of Athens. Losing a local talent like Brooks to an SEC rival? Yeah, that ain’t an option.

Brooks, a Top 100 recruit in the 2026 class, just announced his official visits, and Georgia made the cut. He’s hitting Athens on May 30, then Alabama on June 6, Texas on June 13, and USC on June 20. That means Kirby and his staff gotta work overtime to make sure he doesn’t get swayed by Nick Saban’s old stomping grounds or the bright lights of LA.

The thing is, Georgia needs Brooks. Their defense thrives on guys like him—versatile, explosive, straight-up game-wreckers. And if you’ve been watching UGA the past few years, you know they love having a defensive Swiss Army knife who can do it all. Right now, Brooks fits that mold perfectly, and with the 2025 roster not having a guy like him, Georgia can’t afford to let this one slip.

The race for Brooks is heating up, and if Georgia plays their cards right, they’ll keep him close to home. But Bama and Texas? They ain’t backing down. They know what kind of player Brooks can be. And they’re throwing everything at him to pull him away from the Bulldogs. This one’s gonna come down to the wire, and you can bet Kirby Smart ain’t gonna let it slide without a fight.

Recruiting season is a war, and right now, both Mosley and Brooks are sitting at the center of it. Alabama, Nebraska, Georgia, and a few others are all playing chess, hoping to make the right move at the right time. Mosley’s got decisions to make, Brooks has got coaches blowing up his phone, and by the time summer rolls around, we’re gonna see which program comes out on top.
