Every Deion Sanders fan is nursing themselves from a broken heart after Nebraska’s dominance. Colorado didn’t play their best, or rather, were the Cornhuskers too good for them? Once again, the Buffs offense gets the criticism as it failed to deliver its promise.

After much talk about how this season is all about protecting Shedeur Sanders, Deion Sanders had to go through the pain of seeing his son suffer on the field again. The 22-year-old endured several hits and suffered five sacks, completing only 61% of his passes for 244 yards and a TD. The offense lagged so much that Travis Hunter even lost his cool. If this kind of play continues, a former Colorado coach feels skeptical of the Buffs’ next game against their rival CSU.

Gary Barnett made an appearance in a YouTube video by BuffsTV to drop his views on the Buffs’ last 28-10 defeat against Nebraska. Like every other Buffs supporter, the former Colorado HC isn’t satisfied with the way the Buffs played. He said, “I don’t know if we’re going to play another environment or atmosphere like this, but they got to learn to play in this stuff.” But he sounds an alarm for Deion Sanders and co. in their upcoming “huge game in Fort Collins.”

Talking about the Buffs, Coach Barnett emphasized the importance of winning in the next game against the Colorado State Rams. He said, “I don’t know if our guys know how big a game this really is… This has got to be turned. We have to make this a game because this is a must-win for us.” The Rocky Mountain Showdown is slated for September 15, where Colorado leads the rivalry with a 6x streak against CSU since 2015.

Will Deion Sanders and Co. make up for Week 2’s loss with CSU matchup?

Last season, Colorado heaped the glory of the Rocky Mountain Showdown with a double-overtime thriller. So what are the expectations for this season? It’s hard to rule out because things could take a drastic turn like the game with Nebraska whom they crushed last season. Colorado may have won 31-26 against North Dakota State in their season opener, but their performance in Week 2 has earned them mixed opinions.

Meanwhile, CSU is the opposite of Colorado, as far as the two games are concerned. After losing their season opener in a blowout 52-0 defeat at the hands of Texas, CSU managed to bounce back in Week 2 against N Colorado 38-17. Their third game will be an intense battle as CSU looks to win their first game against Colorado since 2015. How do you think the match would pan out for the Buffs?
