Is Paul Finebaum right about Colorado being 'nothing,' or is he underestimating Deion Sanders' impact?

Paul Finebaum, Colorado’s biggest critic, comes back yet again for attacks even more ballistic. The Colorado Buffaloes continue to be one of the more notable topics in the world of college football, with or without the hype. With an underwhelming season last year, they are riding on a lot of expectations to try and redeem themselves this season. But if Finebaum takes a day off from his job just once, maybe an environment of positivity can beam over Boulder and Deion could take a breath of relief.

Deion Sanders has been called many things by Finebaum, a “celebrity coach” or “not patient” enough to stay in Colorado to win a national championship. While most of his words tend to be belittling, this time, he called Deion a “superstar” but in doing so, he dragged the Buffs’ name through the mud. He believes that the program is solely due to the influence of Coach Prime and they don’t really matter in the ultimate competition of the league. These statements struck a wrong cord with the fans, who are now hitting back at the ESPN analyst for his ruthlessness.

On the 14th August episode of the ‘ESPN College Football’ show, Paul Finebaum spawned yet again to continue his persevering attack on Deion Sanders. While he did seem to see support from the fans when he knocked Coach Prime for being harsh on the reporters during the SEC Media Days, the ball is back in Deion’s court now since the people are calling out Finebaum for his relentless attacks.

When asked to chime in with his opinion on Deion Sanders, Finebaum seemed to have an answer ready at the tip of his tongue. He said, “Colorado is overhyped because of who the coach is on one side and they get a lot of criticism because of who the coaches from other people. I hope they improve.Though he did tend to have a glowing appreciation for Deion, the fans didn’t appreciate having their beloved team being termed as “nothing.”

One of the users in the comments wrote, “Haters always find a way,” insinuating that Paul will always have a bad taste in his mouth whenever it comes to the Colorado HC and after the patterned behavior of the analyst to have a resentment towards most college football coaches, it might just be true. As for now, the fans have found a way and they’re out to get the collar of the ESPN analyst in a heated clapback.

If the renowned analyst chooses to step into Folsom Stadium anytime soon, he can be sure that he won’t ever receive a warm welcome, considering everything he has said. The tensions against Finebaum continuously heat up as the fans now take it upon themselves to call him out.

A user pointed out the irony in Finebaum’s words as he keeps calling them “irrelevant” but can’t keep their name out of his mouth. He said, “Once again, Paul Finebaum is talking about the “IRRELEVANT” Colorado that “no one cares about”

Next, this fan defended Deion and his efforts in rebuilding the team by writing, “It takes more than a year to rebuild a team you know?” This seems to be a fair point since neither the coaching greats like Nick Saban nor Bill Belichick had their peaks in their debut seasons.

Finebaum tends to focus a lot on what Deion has to say and advises him to focus on coaching instead, but this user prompted the HC to keep going. His comment read, “Basically they want Prime to “shut up and coach.” Nah, keep talking Prime.”

Lastly, this fan seemed enraged with Finebaum’s constant wordly attacks and in an infuriated effort, bashed both ESPN and the analyst. His lengthy rant said, “Absolute filth of an individual and network. Everything ESPN does – everything – is calculated to line its pocket and promote its backwoods trailer park conference. The damage it has done to college football is immeasurable. Finebaum is a hack and a stain on our beloved sport. Wishing all of them the worst this coming season.”

Thus, Finebaum seems to be trying to get on the bad side of the Colorado fans on purpose since they haven’t had a fair chance to prove themselves yet, and here’s this critic, judging every little movement of theirs. Obviously the fans will tend to get protective about their beloved team, as will every football enthusiast, but this constant barrage of unnecessary criticisms doesn’t suit Paul Finebaum in the slightest.
