Will Julian Lewis's Georgia visit reignite his childhood dream, or is it just a fleeting fantasy?

Finally, some good news on Kirby Smart’s plate. Despite holding a decent spot in the playoff bracket in the earlier weeks, the Dawgs dropped out. A lopsided loss to Ole Miss turned the fate around for the worse for the Bulldogs. However, it might feel like a shock to the pants, but if you are a seasoned fan with the ability to read between the lines, the fall was inevitable. Although they started the season with a lot of hope, as the preseason AP No. 1 team, since they gave it to Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama, things started to take a pear shape. Currently standing at 7-2, the Bulldogs can turn things around by defeating Tennessee and move up in the official rankings. Heading to the week 12 game, they have added motivation to sweep the board. After all, three potential OB flips will be on the watch.

Kirby had a recent hitch on the recruitment front as well. With the final signing day inching closer, big SEC giants are trying to fill up their voids and flaunt their strength to attract the best of the best talents of the town in an uncompromising competitive spree. For Kirby Smart, he will have to take care of the business of sloppy offenses. Carson Beck and his game-costing turnovers and sacks aren’t going to help, something the veteran coach knows the best. Fans were constantly giving him the reality check on social media. But forget catching the heat when there is a golden opportunity for Smart to catch. Three high school prospects, 5-star Jared Curtis, 5-star Julian Lewis, and high 4-star commit Ryan Montgomery, will visit the UGA in the crucial Tennessee weekend.

Jared Curtis recently gave Smart a tough time, announcing his decommitment. The reason was simple: to explore more before having the final deal penned. However, those who know they know that the Bulldogs’ recent slog propelled the prospect to take their future with a grain of salt.

However, the promising thing is Curtis isn’t giving up on the Dawgs totally yet. The nation’s No. 1 recruit in the class of 2026 had already been in Auburn, Oregon, and finally came back to Georgia, probably to sort a strategic comparison in his head.

But there are still threats looming over as the Ducks turned out to be a top choice for the Nashville kid, and you can’t even blame him. I mean, just look at Lanning’s ’10-game-all-won’ stats! They are second to none. Also, Kurtis has a scheduled visit to Alabama next on the line. So, the chances of Smart to get him back are pretty slim. However, for Ryan Montgomery and Julian Lewis, the No. 8 Georgia can have some luck.

Will Julian Lewis's Georgia visit reignite his childhood dream, or is it just a fleeting fantasy?

Have an interesting take?

Lewis, the celebrated high school quarterback who already gave his words to the USC Trojans, didn’t close out his options. He is having a slew of offers from the other schools and is clearly enjoying the attention. After all, who wouldn’t? But the most interesting thing is that there’s a new twist in his recruitment intel. The kid had his eyes for the Buffs. His bond with Shedeur Sanders has proceeded at such a level that Deion Sanders would already have him signed in his mind. But as they say, in college football, anything is barely final, be it a volatile CFP spot or the ever-changing recruiting landscape. And here, the Bulldogs come into the play.

On November 13, On3’s Rusty Mansell spilled the bean of the five-star recruit’s current headspace on the recruitment drama. He revealed that Georgia has always been his childhood dream school. ”Georgia, If you’re Julian Lewis, there’s three weeks left. He comes to campus. You probably have a conversation and go, Where are you at? What’s going on here? Because I do know this, and Josh, you can back me up on this. Juju Lewis, at one time, really wanted to be at Georgia. He really wanted to be in Georgia at one time,” said Mansell. Sounds promising? There is more to scream for the Dawgs fans.

The young prodigy is finally will be in UGA, the team he grew up rooting for. Shedeur Sanders is probably crying in the corner, but it is what it is. Lewis is all in taking the most out of his Georgia visit this weekend, and so we are.

Coming to Ryan Montgomery, a four-star quarterback from Findlay, Ohio, has already committed to UGA since April 2024. His scheduled upcoming visit to the Dawgs’ camp is a sweet reaffirmation ringing in Smart’s ear: he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. At least, that’s what we would like to believe.
