Looks like Travis Hunter doesn’t need to steal Deion Sanders‘ kicks anymore. Adidas made a massive business move. With Travis Hunter picking up the Heisman award, we all knew that brands would jump in to get an NIL signed with him. So, Adidas followed, and a week before we learned that Hunter had said yes to a multi-year deal with the shoe company. This will not just boost the 2-way star’s overall NIL valuation, but the deal will also extend into his NFL era. “Working with Adidas is a special opportunity for me and something that I’m really excited about,” Hunter had mentioned during an interview.
But you know what? We think there might be a bigger deal brewing behind the scenes. Back on X, JaKi shared a clip from Hunter’s podcast, in which the 2-way star had something interesting to say. “They had to add Trayvis in the deal, so it’s gotta be right if Trayvis in it. We all Adidas,” Hunter mentioned. With Hunter’s brother Trayvis also getting a part of the deal, this looks like Adidas’ answer to Nike building a family tree with Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders.

This entire deal could be massive for the company. See, Hunter has already proved everyone wrong this season. People had thought that Ashton Jeanty would get that Heisman or even Dillion Gabriel had a shot.
Come on, with what Hunter was doing on offense and defense? There is no chance. More than 1500 snaps and Hunter also managed to set an FBS record. 3 receiving touchdowns with 1 interception: This in 2 different games. Never been done before in 25 years of FBS history.
Back on the Adidas US online store, you can already spot exclusive Travis Hunter Heisman merch and a very interesting Adizero Electric Cleats in white with gold accents. We still gotta wait for some custom colorways, though. However, our question is: How did Nike even allow this to happen?
Nike could’ve had Travis Hunter!!

See, Hunter has always loved Nike. We have spotted him multiple times wearing Deion Sanders custom DT Max ‘96. So why didn’t Nike move in to snag Hunter into their Deion and Shedeur Sanders partnership?
See, Hunter probably has an answer. In an interview, Hunter did say something interesting about the Adidas deal. “They never hid nothing from me and the more conversations that I have made me feel more like home,” he had mentioned. Could it be that he had a fall-off with Nike?
It’s weird because, throughout his Buffs journey, you would see Hunter rep Nike gear. Even Nike had the advantage of the signing race as well. Shedeur was the latest addition to their brand and how hard would it be to get Hunter, right?

Regardless, you can’t let a single brand have a monopoly. Someone’s gotta rise to give some good competition, and it looks like Hunter is going to take the charge on that one. Cannot wait to see what custom kicks hit the Adidas shop soon.
