In a world of recruiting where quarterbacks always have their own antics and tantrums. Dia Bell has long sealed his destination. A 5-star quarterback, Dia Bell, for their 2025 who is ranked 10th nationally and doesn’t have that much firepower. Dia Bell stands alone amid aggressive interest by rivals. Be it Brian Kelly’s LSU or Billy Napier’s Florida, the player has long denied any interest in any program other than his favorite one. In a recent statement too, he has finally cleared his intentions.
When asked about the interest of other teams he had a straightforward reply as he proclaimed his loyalty to Steve Sarkisian. ” As long as Coach Sark and (AJ) Milwee are there, I don’t have any plans of going anywhere else. People are still recruiting me — and I’m gonna hear them out because it’s a long time until Signing Day — but my heart and my head are with Texas right now”.
In a world of NIL where recruits change camp without even a warning. The 5-star quarterback defines a new term for ‘loyalty’. Take, for example, his upcoming visits; they are scheduled to be in Austin, and he doesn’t have any other visits scheduled at all. And it’s not like he doesn’t have any suitors, as he has more than 40 offers in his bag and even has Ohio State and Florida trailing aggressively in probability rankings. Yet he hasn’t shown any signs that he is interested.

Dia Bell committed to the Longhorns back in June 2024 and is a top Quarterback in every prospect. Standing at 6’3″ and 19 lbs he is someone who is a product of American Heritage High School, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. If probability rankings by On3 are taken into account. Then Ohio State currently leads with a 19.4% chance rate, followed by 17% by Penn State and 11% by LSU. Longhorns are ranked fourth in retaining him. As they have just a 9.2% probability rate. However, that doesn’t mean it will all pan out according to probabilities.

Dia Bell expanded on the job Texas is doing and the motivation that keeps him loyal to them. “I feel like I’d seen all the places I needed to see. The schools who were recruiting me heavily, and after the last visit with them before I committed. I went with my QB coach, my mom, and my dad. We went home and talked about it and Texas was the place for me. The relationship I built with both of them (Sarkisian and Milwee), the offense they run, their history with quarterbacks in the past…I really fell in love with everything about them“.

Sure, the future looks bright for the young prodigy who would have all the pieces to support him at Texas. Longhorns have some of the best receivers coming in their 2025 class, like 5-star Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench, who will provide him the support in reaching the top efficiency rate. Then the prospects of the 2026 class also have a receiver in Chris Stewart who is looking like a solid layer with a frame of 6 feet and 175 lbs. But, most of all, the player will benefit from the offensive genius of Steve Sarkisian and the experience that A.J. Milwee, the QB coach, has with Texas. But why the hype for the player?

Bell is undoubtedly a player who has performed to levels unparalleled for his High School. As he won the Gatorade Player of the Year in Florida in 2024. And finished the season with 70% pass accuracy, throwing for 2,597 yards and also rushing for 561 yards. This essentially points to his dual-threat nature, which Steve Sarkisian can surely employ in his RPO schemes. However, he still needs to work on his field awareness and decision-making in tight situations. His arm strength, too, needs to develop quite a bit. And thus his development with Texas will determine what will his future legacy be.
