As the regular season came to a wrap, all attention was automatically shifted to the transfer portal moves, with a series of player inflows and outflows. Some of the departures have made permanent woes under the belt of a program, while some recruits brought new rays of hope to another. Now, the star in watch, this week is Lamar Brown, Rivals No 1 ranked interior offensive lineman. He has been on the wheel taking multiple visits to the A-lister schools before signing up for his home.

Lamar Brown’s latest tweet carries a strong hint about his potential inclination
Lamar is a guy who can fill the void in multiple positions. Teams have been trying to recruit him differently as per their need. Amidst his long list of suitors, Texas A&M likes him as a defensive lineman, while the in-state Tigers will love to get him on their offense. Tulane has already hosted a recent visit that went significantly well for the next-level Offensive lineman. He is set to visit LSU on February 1st and will return to the Aggies on March 22 when spring football kicks in, but USC insiders keep the Trojans up in the pursuit and for a reason.
USC defensive line coach Eric Henderson continued bolstering his roster, offering five-star 2026 Baton Rouge (LA) prospect Lamar Brown, arguably the best tw0-way lineman in the nation back in July last year. Since then, a lot of development has been made as Brown visited a series of schools and gained huge closure on his choice, but it seems he is not sleeping on the USC’s proposal at all. Does his conditions align the best with the Trojans?
Well, we are not sure, but the Louisiana kid gave a shout-out to the Trojans’ new coaching recruit, Trovon Reed, in a sneaky tweet. Lincoln Riley brought in UCF’s Trovon Reed as the new cornerback’s coach at South Carolina and guess who is breathing a sigh of relief? Yes, Lamar Brown. The key 2026 target of the school tagged the new CB coach and wrote, ”Just made everything easier for me.” The ‘USCJ Lost in the Sauce’ podcast host elaborated, ”Lamar Brown posted this on Twitter last night after the announcement and he says this just made everything easier for me and he put up the fighter on emojis, then he put up the two eyes, meaning look and so look man we can only suspect and really think that this is a commitment that’s very much so pending right now and look the announcement probably could be made any day anytime, it’s go time.”

Lamar Brown excels on both sides, but he said he envisions himself as an offensive lineman on the next level. He likes to “destroy people and get to the next level and destroy somebody else.” Along with all-state honors in 2023, Brown grabbed MaxPreps sophomore and freshman All-American awards during his celebrated high school years. Getting onto the USC roster would be exciting for him as well as for the school, no doubt.
But despite the hint and hunches, the competition is high for Riley as Brown is nurturing a ‘feel good’ thoughts for multiple schools including Alabama.

Lamar Brown has a wide variety of choices to go for
The recruitment of Lamar Brown, the nation’s No. 1 interior offensive lineman, has become a musical chair for the college football’s big programs. Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama coaching staff has been relentlessly chasing the five-star prospect for months. Finally, they went one step up as the Crimson Tide’s wide receivers coach, JaMarcus Shephard, visited him last week.
”It’s just the standard, really. You see, a lot of players go there, get developed, and get a chance to go to the NFL,” said Brown, posing a hint of his intent to become NFL-ready within a few years and chose the school accordingly. With a premium lineup of coaches, Alabama can offer him that, but he is also actively considering Florida, Texas A&M, Miami, Florida State, Tennessee, and Oregon.
