Could USC's recent failures push Julian Lewis into the arms of Deion Sanders and the Buffs?

CU Buffs fans, it’s time to get your hopes up again on 5-star QB Julian Lewis! The number of times he’s visited Colorado is an indication of his genuine interest in Deion Sanders’ program. And this time, there’s more reason to hope for a commitment flip with USC suffering three back-to-back losses.

Julian Lewis is back in Boulder! In his new Instagram story on October 26, the coveted 2025 prospect uploaded a picture of his view from inside his car adding Boulder, Colorado as the location. Another can’t-miss detail is the CU Buffs branded bag between his legs as he gets ready to steal attention at the upcoming Colorado vs Cincinnati game.

Julian Lewis’ latest visit marks the fourth time that he’s set foot on Folsom Field proving that Colorado truly has a chance to flip his commitment. Ahead of the Saturday game, Rivals.com also posted an interesting update on X which featured that viral photo of Colorado’s QB Shedeur Sanders handing a key to Julian Lewis who was seated on a throne wearing the Buffs uniform.

This particular picture blew the internet when it first appeared on Shedeur’s Instagram on June 24. Fans speculated that the 22-year-old is passing the QB role to the 2025 prospect to lead when he leaves for the NFL next year. Can that become a reality though? Deion Sanders and the Buffs are doing their best, even naming a burger joint in Boulder after him. But they’re not the only program putting immense effort into recruiting this elite talent.

Have an interesting take?

There’s a high chance that Lincoln Riley and USC will experience a decommitment from Julian Lewis in the coming months. The Trojans have fallen to a dismal 3-4 record so far this season and Riley’s future in USC is shrouded in suspense. But even if Lewis breaks away from the Trojans, he has another program inviting him with open arms; an undefeated program that is performing way better than Colorado.

The Indiana Hoosiers have become one of the two favorites for Julian Lewis to land. On3 VP of Recruiting and Transfer Portal Steve Wiltfong maintains that “Indiana is right there in the middle of it.” JuJu was expected to attend last Saturday’s game against Nebraska but he didn’t make it. The Hoosiers delivered a stunning 56-7 victory over the Huskers to lead the season with seven wins to zero losses. While Lewis’ ultimate commitment is a mystery, more hints could pop up after the Buffs’ game against the Bearcats on October 27.
