Home/College Football

Why do all good things have to come to an end? Now this is the question that must be haunting the Colorado Buffaloes fans. Yes, no doubt they are happy that their favorite Shedeur Sanders and his brother Shilo will be off to the NFL. But still, their hearts ache. If it’s so difficult for the Buffs fans, have you ever imagined what their father and the Buffs HC Deion Sanders must be going through?

After all, that man will be returning to an empty nest. But thank God they have Julian “JuJu” Lewis in Boulder. The young chap has promised to give Deion something to feel good about.

The Sanders trio has been inseparable. After all, ever since their time at Jackson State University, Shedeur and Shilo have been under Deion’s safe shelter. But now the time has come for the siblings to spread out their wings and fly high. Meanwhile, the Buffs gave a heart-touching farewell.

They arranged a special walk for the trio. Now that was indeed an honor. But sometimes the sweet memories continue to haunt you. Deion is no exception, as the clip from the last walk with his sons in college football is playing in his mind on repeat. As Coach Prime poured his heart out and said, “That’s tough, to know that that’s it, that that walk won’t happen again. That’s tough. We’ve been doing this for a long time.” Well, we know how nobody can ever replace Shedeur and Shilo, but at least Lewis is trying his best.

On December 29, Lewis posted a picture of the Buffs locker room. In the picture, we could see two jerseys hanging side by side. One is the Buffs’ QB’s No.2 jersey, and the other is the 5-star recruit’s No.10 jersey. The caption of the post is bound to leave you with happy tears, as Lewis wrote, “You left huge shoes to fill.” It was followed with a 4-word promise, as JuJu’s mission is to take the Colorado Buffaloes football program to new heights. He assured, “better than I found it.” Looks like Lewis is ready to turn the famous picture with Shedeur into reality.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Julian Lewis truly fill the massive shoes left by Shedeur and Shilo Sanders at Colorado?

Fans can join the dots between JuJu’s tweet and an old picture

Even though committed to Boulder in November, the buzz had been going on for quite a long time. Back in July, a picture went viral. In that, Lewis was spotted sitting on the Colorado Buffaloes’ throne donning the black and white No.10 Buffs jersey. Beisde him, Shedeur was standing holding a pigskin dressed in casual attire, a pair of denim, and a yellow-colored hoodie. It came off as a normal picture until you focus on Shedeur’s hands.

In the snap, Shedeur was spotted handing over some keys to Lewis. That was enough hints for fans, as it represented the act of passing the baton. So, now it gets easier for you to connect Lewis’ present tweet on how he had already filled Shedeur’s shoes with the picture from five months ago. Yes, the two bonded pretty well.

So much so, now Julian Lewis projects where Shedeur Sanders will play in the NFL. A clip has gone viral from the locker room amidst their pre-game practice session for the Alamo Bowl. Seated next to the Buffs QB, JuJu said, “I’m just spectating future New York Giants quarterback. I’m so inspired you know, like watching him and Travis Hunter every day.” Could JuJu have the scoop that Shedeur’s NYC visit wasn’t just about supporting Travis Hunter’s Heisman bid?
