Landing a top quarterback? That’s the holy grail of college football recruiting. And this five-star signal-caller, Jared Curtis, is sparking an absolute frenzy. Six programs are locked in a fierce battle for his commitment, and the drama just keeps heating up. Georgia, the recruiting kingpins, were blindsided when Curtis flipped his commitment earlier this year. Now, they’re clawing their way back into the mix, desperate to win him back. Oregon, too, is in the hunt, and Curtis is quickly becoming their top target. But the real game-changer? This SEC powerhouse, currently ranked #2 in the recruiting class, made a power move to get into the mix. Now, it’s a three-horse race for Curtis’ signature, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Who will ultimately come out on top in this recruiting war?
Curtis informed On3’s Steve Wiltfong in a recent YouTube video that he has narrowed down his options to six elite universities. Ohio State, Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Oregon. Jared Curtis will be in Oregon on June 6, Georgia on June 13, and South Carolina on June 20, according to Hayes Fawcett’s report. And amidst that comes one more intel! “Now I think he’s trying to get an Alabama official visit on the books for early May,” stated Steve Wiltfong of On3.
Despite having a rough 9–4 season under first-year HC, the Tide has been unrelenting in its recruitment efforts. To chase Jared Curtis, the HC and OC Nick Sheridan traveled to Nashville earlier this week. “Kalen DeBoer and Nick Sheridan were in with Jared Curtis and his family on Monday, but I think Alabama needs to make up ground,” Steve stated, revealing the truth without holding back. But Alabama sure needs to do more to impress Curtis. Not only Bama; Ohio State must reestablish their position if they hope to bag this QB.

But when it comes to the front-runners, South Carolina and Oregon gave it their all. “Oregon, Dan Lanning, offensive coordinator Will Stein. Those guys do a fantastic job. They’re coming in home next Monday. And so certainly they’re more than a dark horse there,” said Othe On3insider. However, it is impossible to ignore the fact that Curtis is beginning to establish a rapport with the South Carolina staff.
He had a close relationship with Coach Dowell Loggains, who is currently App State’s head coach. Besides this, he is becoming acquainted with Coach Shula, an NFL veteran who made his first college recruiting trip in decades to see Jared Curtis. Because of their long-standing relationship, SC has a great chance of acquiring Curtis. However, Steve Wiltfong of On3 is still pleased with the Bulldogs’ current recruiting position.
“I handicap his recruitment right now. I know when he decommitted from Georgia, he made Oregon his leader. He talked about it with me a couple of times. But I still like where Georgia stands for Jared Curtis right now,” he said. And why not? Even though he de-committed, Georgia still seems like the best fit. OC Mike Bobo has been working overtime, trying to convince his family to make the move. Plus, the young quarterback has already visited Georgia several times to get a feel for the team and see where he might fit in.
So, as per Steve Wiltfong, in contrast to all those other programs, Georgia offers the finest opportunity for the QB to enter the game early. And with that, the recruiting war is about to get even wilder for the coveted 5-star quarterback.
Can the tide reel in Jared Curtis?
Although his stats are unquestionably amazing, they are not the only thing that makes Jared Curtis so exceptional. It’s his composure, football acumen, and playmaking skills under duress. He is the type of quarterback who enhances a game plan rather than merely carrying it out.

Mick Gillispie of the Bama Tailgate channel also felt the same when he said, “Alabama possibly can land the best quarterback in the country, and if he’s not, he’s arguably the best depending on what recruiting service you’re looking at….This is a guy out of Nashville Christian that you really want to be in the mix for.”And we all know, despite a few setbacks during the previous season, Bama has made it apparent that they are fully committed. And why not?
See his stats. At Nashville Christian School in Bellevue, he amassed an incredible 7,665 yards and 9 TDs in just 37 contests. As of now, Bama’s Junior Day trip to Tuscaloosa on Feb 1st is guaranteed to keep fans talking about one of the most sought-after QBs in the 2025 recruiting cycle. However, the Gatorade Tennessee National Player of the Year opened up about his Bama ties.
Curtis stated, “Coach Sheridan and Coach DeBoer, I feel like they showed what they can do in their first year. They keep getting top-five recruiting classes, and they have the guys around.” But nothing has been fixed as the quarterback is scheduled to visit other SEC powerhouses.

Furthermore, he said, “I’ll wait until official visits to make my decision. When official visits open up, I’ll get down on some visits, see the schools, and see what I like about them.” Now, let’s see who has the best luck to bag this 5-star QB.
