Right now, the 5-stars are stirring the pot in the college football recruiting landscape. One of the many who have now turned into an attention magnet is none other than Ethan Boobie Feaster. The craze to land the wide receiver has been real. After all, he solidified his status as one of the most sought-after prospects in the country after reclassifying from the 2027 class to the 2026 class. Even though many started running the race to land Feaster, two of them are nearing the finish line. One is Mike Elko and Texas A&M, and the other is Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns. And guess what? Even amidst the two suitors, a crucial factor gives one of them an edge when it comes to winning Feaster’s heart.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound standout from DeSoto, Texas, did turn a lot of heads. When it came to the 2027 class, he was ranked as the No. 4 overall recruit and the No. 1 wide receiver. On reclassifying, Feaster lands as the No.4 WR in the 2026 class. Now, what makes the suitors swarm around him? As a freshman, he was a key contributor to DeSoto’s Texas 6A Division II state championship team. His numbers do all the talking. Feaster racked up 824 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. What makes him more powerful? Feaster is an elite track athlete, boasting an impressive 22.01-second 200-meter dash as a high school freshman. Obviously, programs would get blessed with a dynamic weapon in any offensive scheme, given his speed and athleticism. Here comes an important update in Feaster’s recruitment.

On March 26, On3 Recruits posted a tweet, “🚨NEWS🚨 Elite WR Boobie Feaster will visit Texas A&M and Texas this week, @ChadSimmons_ reports✈️.” However, he holds a distinct vision for both Elko and Sarkisian’s squad. Both programs want to lock Feaster within the state. For both Aggies and Longhorns, the respective head coaches earn big points. The Longhorns HC and WR coach Chris Jackson has been pursuing Feaster for years now. For Sarksian, the WR said, “I love Sark. He’s a big receiver guy. At Bama, he had great receivers, and he can really groom great receivers. Coach Jackson has been in the league and he’s seen where I’m trying to get.” But something stands out in Feaster’s take on Texas A&M.

The WR started off with the regular praise for the HC, “I love Coach Elko.” But what followed next might be the deciding factor on why Feaster might seal the deal with the Aggies. As he said, “He’s [Elko] straight up – and I like that. That’s the type of coaching I need. At DeSoto, I’ve been around straight-up, blunt people. My parents are blunt people, so that’s the type of people and culture I need to be around, It would be a great fit for me.” That’s how Elko plans to silence the very rivals who once kept him up at night.

The programs that might miss on Ethan Boobie Feaster

The first one in the line is Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks. Now, come on, we also know they are a pro at netting talents. Plus, they had big bonuses when it came to recruiting Feaster. That’s none other than the presence of Ross Douglas, the Ducks’ newly minted wide receivers coach. Earlier on one occasion, Feaster seemed to be very pleased with Douglas’ no-nonsense scheme. “He seemed like he’s really chill, really blunt, but he’s gonna get on you when he needs to. That’s a great coach. That’s like a real old-school coach. But I’ll see once I go up there.”

There is another factor that gave Lanning some hope in Mission Feaster. That’s the player’s close bond with the Ducks wide receiver Dakorien Moore. “For me, Oregon always has somebody fast, so it’s speed. Those two things. And Kori (Dakorien Moore). Because I’m really close with Kori. I’ll be watching a lot of Oregon football this year for him for sure,” Feaster once shared. Meanwhile, not to forget Alabama Crimson Tide’s effort for Feaster.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Mike Elko's blunt coaching style the secret weapon to land Ethan Boobie Feaster?

Have an interesting take?

Even though they were late to the party in offering the offer, things soon got ironed out between both parties. After all, they had their WR star Ryan Williams, who whitewashed their image. After all, Ethan Boobie Feaster is a huge fan of Williams who too reclassified from the 2025 class to the 2024 class while in high school. But looks like Feaster will now prefer to chart a different path to success. He has official visits locked in for Maimi from May 30 to June 1 and USC Trojans from June 6 to June. Then, he will be flying off to Texas A&M on June 13-15 and to LSU on June 20-22. As per the buzz, Alabama might earn an official visit this summer. Only time will reveal where Feaster chooses to plant his roots.
