Can Ole Miss really flip Caleb Cunningham from Alabama, or is this just wishful thinking?

Eight wins and two losses. Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss showed the world their dominance after delivering a stellar 28-10 upset to Kirby Smart and No. 3 Georgia. The cherry on top of that huge win as an underdog is that one of their biggest targets, 5-star WR Caleb Cunningham, was in attendance. Although he’s committed to Alabama currently, the Rebels are giving him more than enough reasons as to why they’re the best program for him in 2025 and beyond.

On3 Recruits is back on YouTube with fresh recruiting intel on Ole Miss. OMSpirit recruiting analyst Zach Berry joined Josh Newberg on November 11 and delivered an interesting update on Caleb Cunningham following his visit. He said, “Buzzing in the pregame, I went up and asked him how he was doing getting ready for the playoffs next week and then he just immediately started talking about the game, about how excited he was to see Ole Miss in this atmosphere.”

Berry also took into account other notable attendees at the Ole Miss vs. Georgia game at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday. Big names like Ole Miss alums Donte Moncrief and Cory Core were present, which is a plus factor for Caleb Cunningham to feel the motivation that Ole Miss produced these NFL legends. As Berry said, “He wants to be the next guy that’s next in line from the state to play in college play at a high level and then get to the NFL and I think just the offense Lane Kiffin has not stopped recruiting him. The entire staff is recruiting him at this point.”

And with the success that the last game had, Lane Kiffin is in a very good position to flip Cunningham from Alabama, as they’re now somehow at the level of Kalen DeBoer‘s program. After defeating Georgia, the Rebels became the first team, aside from Alabama, to beat the Bulldogs since November 7th, 2020. And as Cunningham has previously shown, he has a soft spot for Ole Miss.

Have an interesting take?

Rated as the No. 2 WR and No. 17 overall, Caleb Cunningham committed to Alabama on July 31. But on August 31, he was at the Ole Miss campus for their season opener against Furman. He followed up that visit with another game visit on October 26 against Oklahoma. And just one game later, he’s back in Oxford for the last epic victory. His consistent attendance speaks volumes about his interest in the Rebels.

Caleb Cunningham also verbally voiced his appreciation for Ole Miss. Even before last Saturday’s game-changer, he said, “I can’t lie, Ole Miss is a great place to be. From the fans to the kids to the players to the coaches, everyone is cool. They know who I am there, that means a lot to me, and the love is real. Everywhere I go, they tell me to come to the Sip.” Right now, the Rebels are in a great position to flip this Alabama commit. But as of now, all we can do is wait for signing day in December.
