For the first time without Nick Saban, the CFB world doubted how good Alabama would be. It took them one game. And BOOM! The doubters are looking for a place to hide. The Tide players are still dancing to the joys of their 41-34 win over Kirby Smart’s Georgia. Not known about the haters but Kalen DeBoer’s program has already won the hearts of the recruits including 5-star recruit and Duncanville QB Keelon Russell. He was then followed by the other recruits. Does that mean Alabama accomplished its mission? The mission to dethrone Ryan Day’s Ohio State. Who cares what the future holds? DeBoer’s crew have already made the first step it seems.
The September 28, Georgia vs. Alabama match-up is something that the CFB world would be crushing over for the longest time. They already have lost count but this was their 300th win at the Bryant-Denny stadium, recently christened after their GOAT Nick Saban. Not only did DeBoer and crew woo their fans, but they charmed the cleats of their recruits too! Among the prospects, 2025 5-star QB commit Russell was the first one to pour in with his thoughts, “The offense is amazing. It’s amazing to see what Nick Sheridan can call up.”

Of course, how could he not talk about DeBoer’s most powerful offense on Saturday night? Tide’s offense opened the game with four straight touchdowns burying the Dawgs in a 28-0 hole. Tide then marched right up the field on the opening drive which was then capped by their star QB Jalen Milroe who came with a seven-yard touchdown run.
After forcing the Dawgs to go three-and-out, DeBoer’s boys marched right down the field and came up with another touchdown. That’s what exactly 2025 4-star defensive tackle Christian Ingram tried pointing out when he said, “You literally felt the stadium shaking. The Tide showed out. They played fast and physical. They brought the energy on every play.” Besides Milroe, if any other people deserved the victory credit, that’s the two freshmen- Ryan Williams and Zabien Brown. The 4-star 2026 safety Bralan Womack too went like, “I loved how the two freshman stepped up when the team needed them to and made big plays.” And if you think that DeBoer’s only mission was to crush Smart and Georgia, that’s not the case. He has his eyes on something even bigger!
Kalen DeBoer is one step closer to outpacing Ohio State
While their big match-up was lined up for the September 28-29 weekend, it also had something special planned for the two days. Well, Tuscaloosa had opened its doors and hosted over 80 high school recruits. The No.4 Crimson Tide in the list of recruiting class holds the No.2 position as of now. But DeBoer seems to be not so satisfied with the rankings. So what did he do instead? Pinned all his hopes on the Tide vs Dawgs clash as a way to win over the recruits’ hearts. But how are they going to benefit from this?

They are going to clinch the first spot in the recruiting race, kicking out Ryan Day’s Ohio State Buckeyes. As we have seen, his top recruits, have already been charmed by Tide’s magic. Some of the other prospects who are yet to comment on the great Alabama show are ex-Pittsburgh Steelers CB Ike Taylor’s 4-star safety son Ivan Taylor, 4-star LB Jaedon Harmon and the list continues.

Kalen DeBoer’s 2026 class has 4-star CB Dorian Barney while the 2027 cycle has already reeled in pledges of a 4-star edge rushers pair Jabarrius Garbor and Ba’Roc Willis. While Kirby Smart was prepared for the Tide rage, the Tide HC didn’t need a game against Day and Co. to cause a little discomfort!
