Jalen Milroe is back! This Saturday, Milroe made sure to turn his haters and critics into fans with his impressive performance. After the Tennessee game, football analysts questioned his ability and potential as a quarterback. While others were busy doubting Milroe, head coach Kalen DeBoer stuck with him, and now all of us can see the results. We are sure DeBoer can feel him as he has gone through the same phase this season, all the ups and downs. After dominating LSU in week 11, DeBoer made sure he acknowledged his leader. A few hours ago, the YouTube channel of Alabama Crimson Tide shared DeBoer’s interview after the game, and he commented on all the negativity Milroe received before he entered the field on Saturday.

Commenting on all the challenges Milroe faced and particularly how he managed the external factors, DeBoer said,
“Just a complete game. On top of that, managing the crowd noise, managing the elements, you know, the off and on rain, um, not really you know, having it impact him, and then just doing it over and over again. We’re asking him sometimes to run a quarterback run play, and then the next play, check protection and throw the ba-l. So that happens over and over and over again.”What’s your perspective on:

Have an interesting take?
Looking back at the game, Bama needed Milroe’s legs more than his arms against the Tigers, and once DeBoer and his staff realized that Brian Kelly’s defense didn’t have an answer for their run game, they did not look back. Milroe delivered and how! We know the kind of dual-threat Milroe is, but even he wouldn’t have imagined that he’d end up with a career-high game against LSU.
In a must-win game like the Bama played against LSU, it takes more than just the schemes and plans to come out with such a huge victory. What made the difference?
“Just his mindset, his willingness to just do whatever we ask, and he just did a nice job spreading the ball around.” 185 yards, 4 touchdowns, and it’s not like he didn’t pass it. Ryan Williams also made some crucial plays. However, it takes more than one player for a whole offense to tango! Bama needed everyone. The O-line, the TEs, the running backs, the WRs. If they were not catching it, they were blocking it for the run game. The O-line came under heavy scrutiny due to its failure to protect Jalen Milroe, but against an efficient Tigers’ defense, they did well. Kalen DeBoer made sure to acknowledge them as well.
“But I also think that a lot of other guys helped him make plays. You know, they came through, got the blocks, made the catches and got the first downs when he threw the ba-l-breaking tackles.”DeBoer also mentioned that this week, they converted some second and especially third downs as they were struggling with it initially. Let’s find out how Milroe fought the critics.

Did you know Milroe is a military kid? His family plays a critical role in his life, especially his parents, who serve the county. On the game day, SEC Network shared Milroe’s video, which highlighted his struggles and, most importantly, answered what makes him the player he is today. Facing criticism for poor performance is not the new thing in college football but how you deal with it is important. Let’s see if it was difficult for Jalen Milroe.
“I’ll say my upbringing was tough in the sense of just discipline, discipline being motivated, detail oriented.” His comment clearly reflects that his upbringing wasn’t easy. But the discipline his parents taught him is helping now. He further mentioned something that would have really helped him focus on the game and ignore the critics: “Because my dad taught me this. He said, You don’t; you don’t listen to the volume of what the speaker is giving you. Listen to the message.”
What a lovely message, isn’t it? Jalen Milroe deserves all the love and respect. His parents, too. Like his father, his mother has been his biggest inspiration. “My mom is giving me strength because she’s been through so much in her lifetime, whether it’s being in the military or whether it’s the process of getting her two masters.” He also mentioned that his mother raised them alone when his father was fighting for the country.
We hope Alabama and Milroe keep on the positive momentum and win more games moving forward. This season, they have a lot to prove!
