Bill Belichick checked the legend status in the NFL. He has been widely considered the best coach of all time. It’s a different anecdote that since Tom Brady’s departure, he hasn’t been able to pop out that much. What is relevant is he’s still on NFL coaches’ Mount Rushmore. However, the Patriots legend is ready to set the College football mix on fire as he demoted himself as the UNC head coach a month back. Ever since the landmark decision came to the surface, analysts and veterans have seen it in different lights. A lot of positives and negatives blindside the truth sometimes. But on the bottom line, Jake Krain had to add another pointer to the list that pretty much signifies it’s not at all rosy down the road for the 72-year-old at North Carolina.

Did he just put his GOAT status on line for a promised $50 million? Let’s see it from the expert’s lens.

One month down, the overwhelming decision still feels unreal. If you open X and search Belichick, you will see fans still find something fishy about the UNC-Bill Belichick pairing. Taking the NFL pro in the team might be a massive achievement for a school that has been under the shadows during Hall of Famer Mack Brown’s second stint spanning from 2019 to 2024. But not necessarily. It’s a step up for coach Bill Belichick. It’s certainly not.

Breaking down the odds, analyst Jake Crain noted, ”The real question is if he fails at North Carolina. Does this taint his legacy? I say Yes. And while I am happy that he’s in college football, if it doesn’t work out, it’s only going to add to the narrative that he wasn’t really the catalyst for all those Super Bowls, it truly was Tom Brady.”

Brady and Belichick clinched six Super Bowl titles together during the Patriot Way era in New England. But after the legendary quarterback hit the historic split with his Patriots coach in the 2020 NFL off-season over an unspecified reason, the Patriots started to dwindle. On the other hand, Brady led Tampa Bay to a Super Bowl win and got the 7th ring of his career.

Many have assumed that it was Brady’s excellence that kept Bill Belichick relevant for more than two decades. So, Crain was on point when he said, ”The haters will only get louder if it falls off the rails in Chapel Hill.”  But the renowned analyst added some more personal digs to the logic.

‘I don’t know why he decided to do it, and when you add up all the factors, lately, it’s starting to seem like he may be going through a late-life crisis. He’s 72 years old and decided to go back to college, and he’s dating a 24-year-old,” Crain directly put the veteran’s sanity on point, frowning at his love life. However, he is not the only one who makes a monkey out of his uneven relationship status. Jordon Hudson, Bill’s partner, has been subjected to a lot of trolling for choosing a 72-year multi-millionaire coach as her beau.

Crain added that the coach phenom can easily drag another massive NFL offer if he wanted to but he chooses to walk in the fire instead. The college football nuances are far different than those of the NFL, and it won’t be a walk in the park for the old hat. But he is not just giving up. Silencing the whole NFL return thing, UNC football general manager Michael Lombardi confirmed that the swirling rumors are untrue. Bill Belichick is trying hard to fit in, revamping the whole coaching crew with some prominent faces like Will Friend, Michael Priefer, etc. Time will tell the rest. But as long as it comes to his personal life, Belichick and his girl take no nonsense.

The couple stood together against the societal stereotype. They literally live by the proverb, ‘‘Age is just a number .” I mean, it’s outright their business to steer their life decisions, but being tagged as a public figure always comes with some costly consequences. They have to pay the price by receiving constant pokes about their age gap.  But they aren’t the ones to give up and accept some random claptrap.

Just today, Jordon Hudson took to Instagram to confirm their loyalty to UNC. She posted their photo with the caption, “Pictured: two people who are overtly committed” to UNC. There, you have it. Bill is not going to the NFL. Who better to confirm this than his lady love?

Both in soul and spirit, Jordon doesn’t entertain even the slightest air of negativity surrounding their relationship. The more she gets trolled, the more she posts pictures of their adorable moments together, the travel album, and many more. All of this speaks loudly, and she doesn’t pay heed to the haters. The zero-tolerance-to-nonsense approach is, however, reciprocated by Belichick as well.

We hope coach Belichick will shine in his new stint and his relationship hand in hand. The alternatives won’t taste sweet for the 72-year-old legend, to say the least.
