It’s a bad day to be a Bulldogs fan. After that one massive loss to Ole Miss, people had automatically assumed that Kirby Smart ain’t cracking it into the playoffs. But somehow, after EIGHT overtime plays against Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs made it. But who knew things would turn out this way? With the SEC conference title game underway, the Longhorns are making it hard for Kirby Smart and his crew to bring in any good carries. To make things worse, Carson Beck is once again out of his comfort zone against a good Longhorns defense. All of this combined points to only one ultimate result: Texas winning the title. However, we don’t wanna make the day worse for Georgia fans, but we got some bad news.
Trailing 3-6 before halftime, Beck took a massive hit. With a few seconds on the clock, he went for the Hail Mary, but it failed and he was tackled down. While Carson Beck did get up, he was seen holding his arm. Now, why is this bad? Well, a fan pointed it out clearly on X. “If Carson Beck is injured, should the CFP Committee remove UGA from the CFP? They set the precedent last year,” they wrote in their post. Roll back to 2023 and somehow it is Florida State on top of the charts with an undefeated run. Easy ticket to the playoff, right? Yeah, the committee had different plans.

QB Jordan Travis got his ankle dislocated and fractured and had to be taken off the game ASAP. Now what did this result in? Florida State is being removed from the playoffs. This was a wild day in college football as the committee’s entire reputation was dragged through the mud.
They had concluded that a team’s capability to play for the national championship title is dependent on their starting quarterback. It was as if going undefeated for the entire season didn’t even matter anymore.
And this is exactly what brings us back to the Carson Beck scenario. With that arm injury, Kirby Smart has said that the team will look into it. If Beck fails to play for the rest of the game and is ruled out, Georgia’s future in the playoff could be in grave danger. At least that’s what the fans predict.
Ghosts of the past are coming for the Bulldogs’ playoff spot

“Georgia is gonna be eliminated form the playoffs if Carson Beck can’t play. Those are the rules,” a fan quickly pointed out. With the statement move the CFP committee made last season, this could end up becoming the new norm.
Sharing the same emotion, another fan mentioned, “If Carson Beck is out, they can’t planning the CFP per the rules last year.” Here is the thing and this might sound very controversial, but from what we have seen the committee do recently (like putting Alabama on the playoff list), it is clear that there is a bias.
Adding to this, a fan noted, “Sooo if Carson beck is hurt, Georgia doesn’t get into the playoffs even with a win right? That’s how this works?” Still questionable. As we pointed out, there is always a bias for the SEC team. Bama has 3 losses this year. One of them comes from an unranked team and another one comes from a washed-up Oklahoma team. Still, they were given the 11th spot.

Finally, a fan wrote, “If UGA makes the playoff and Carson beck is out FSU fans will LOSE their minds and I’m so here for it.” FSU fans better start a riot or something or someone has to look into the CFP committee and how they are making the decisions. As of the latest updates, Carson Beck is not coming back and Gunner Stockton is on the field.
