Deion Sanders and the Buffs picked up right where they left off in Week 4 against Baylor. With a 48-21 victory over UCF, they pulled a bug surprise in week 5. Most people didn’t expect them to win, as the UCF Knights won all their games before their week 5 game. Colorado not only won but dominated throughout the game.
The 2023 Season was a big disappointment for the Buffs. Similarly, this year, most media outlets underestimated Deion Sanders and his team. However, with back-to-back three impressive victories, Colorado proved everyone wrong. Even ESPN, one of the biggest broadcast channels, initially looked at them with the same glasses. But after Saturday’s victory, they are giving them the recognition they deserve.
DNVR Buffs, a Colorado Buffaloes fan account, tweeted, “ESPN FPI now gives Colorado the 2nd best odds to win the Big 12. It also has CU favored in every game the rest of the year except K-State.” Big media channels like ESPN play an important role in shaping public perception; fans, as well as teams, follow them closely. Now, the same channel that doubted the Buffs’ potential to win and enter the Big 12 team has bowed to Deion Sanders and his Buffs.

The Buffs sent a clear message to the Big 12 and the entire NCAA yesterday with their performance. Although they lost their second game this season against Nebraska by 18 points, they know how to bounce back. Since then, they have not looked back. Even the head coach appreciated his squad and said, “I think we’re moving in the right direction.” Deion Sanders added, “You can see the results of our hard work, dedication, and good coaching.” The Buffs are now in form, the entire team is always in the headlines, and this season, their performance is speaking for them.
Travis Hunter is one step closer to the Heisman trophy
Deion Sanders is lucky to have two golden players in his squad. His son, Shedeur Sanders, and two-way superstar Travis Hunter. Both of them are big parts of Colorado’s success. Last night, Travis Hunter stepped in again with his amazing performance.

He is a unique player who outshines on both sides, the offense as well as defense. Before he entered week 5, he had the fifth-best odds for the Heisman Trophy. His strong game plan and performance at UCF lifted his chances. He is the only player around the field; on offense, he caught nine passes for 89 yards and scored a touchdown.

Likewise, on defense, he made two solo tackles, all alone got an interception, and also broke up a pass. After the interception, he celebrated the special play with his Heisman pose. It was a treat for Buffs fans. Like always, he showed why he is one of the best players in the country at the moment. But we cannot forget that he still has strong competition for the Heisman Trophy, like Cam Ward and Jalen Milroe, who is currently leading the list. He needs to keep up the momentum and win games for his team to stay in the Heisman race.
