The Colorado Buffaloes’ (8-2) disposition under Deion Sanders is well documented. Certain factions are probably still rubbing their eyes when they see that gaudy record. From deep in the abyss of mediocrity, the Buffs are now standing on the precipice of the College Football Playoffs. Clamor around the Sanders family is soaring. It is rare for a group of talented, successful people to exist symbiotically with no friction whatsoever. Coach Prime spoke out about this intrinsic bond between him and his family.
On and off the field, Deion has reformed skeptics across the country who were cynical of him. His unique working relationship with his sons has been at the forefront of his polarizing image. In an interview with CFB legend Mark Ingram, Deion laid down the intricacies of his relationship with his family. It is in fact these intricacies that accumulate to become the amazing dynamic they share.
Ingram asked Deion “how he keeps his family so tight” when they’re all so busy. Prime said, “ Well, we’re around each other daily, and we always have an open line of communication. When something jump off, the first thing you’re gonna see is the phone ringing, and it’s [like] a conference call. It’s never a dull moment. I always know where they are, and I always could touch them. In any state they go to”.

Deion further elaborated on how fortunate his circumstances are. “Do you know how much fun we have, man? Do you understand that when we on offense, I’m watching my son. When we on defense, I’m watching my son. Then, my son is watching my sons. I can’t have a bad day because I’m surrounded by family. This is a father’s dream”. He is, of course, referring to Shedeur, Shilo and Deion Jr., respectively.

The Buffs continued their rampant run with a 49-24 win over the Utah Utes (4-6) in Boulder on Saturday. Once again, the usual suspects showed out. Deion’s team just seems to keep on improving week after week. Putting up 49 against the best defense in the Big 12 has to do with more than just talent. The positivity around the Buffs’ program, stemming from the Sanders’ dynamic, puts a certain sheen onto affairs. Deion and co. will sure be hoping this sheen doesn’t wear off as he leads his troops into uncharted territory- the CFP.
Big 12 landscape shifts massively after Week 12 results
Speaking of dynamics, the overarching one in the Big 12 went through some transformation in Week 12. Conference leaders BYU Cougars (9-1) lost their first game. The 13-17 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks (4-6) means the Buffs are tied atop the conference, albeit the Cougars hold the tiebreaker.

Is the Sanders family dynamic the secret weapon behind Colorado's stunning football resurgence?
Have an interesting take?
BYU is now in a precarious position. They face Arizona State (8-2) next, who are 3rd in the Big 12. This game will have huge implications in deciding who goes to Jerry’s World for the conference title. If Arizona State wins, they will overtake BYU in the standings. That scenario will inadvertently push BYU out of the championship game. Arizona State are currently 2.5-point favorites to win. This will put Colorado on top of the Big 12 if they win their game. The naysayers’ biggest nightmare may just take shape.
Ironically, they will face the aforementioned Kansas team which caused BYU’s predicament. Deion Sanders will hope his team can continue their scorching run and take care of business. His sons have never played in the postseason. A golden opportunity beckons to create more history as a family.
