From nothing to standing on the No.17 spot on the CFP list. This is what you call progress. Before Deion Sanders took over, the Buffs were pretty irrelevant. They ended a season with a 1-11 run. Can you believe that? After Deion Sanders, the team crept to a 4-8 run, and almost everyone knew who the Buffs were. However, the goal still wasn’t accomplished. There were flaws. The offensive line was weak, and the defense was allowing at least 35 points in every game. But right now? The Buffs stand tall on a 7-2 run with no signs of stopping at just that. It took Colorado football 6 long years to make it to the Bowl games, and all of it was possible because of one mad scientist, Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime.
And this is exactly what Carl Reed Jr. talks about on Instagram. “Coach Prime is one of the most brilliant football minds I’ve ever been around…… The fact that people would think that he didn’t know ba-l, it was just alarming to me,” Reed mentioned. It takes a lot to take a team from nothing to a $200 million empire. Buffs currently have one of the best run and rush games on the FBS, and that, paired with the amazing defensive work Robert Livingstone has done, just brings out a team that can tackle any adversity. Deion Sanders was quick to thank Reed in the comment section of the post. “Thank you, my brother! You ain’t no joke yourself my brother. Let them keep sleeping on u, I promise I’m gon wake it up!” Coach Prime wrote.

See, Colorado took a lot of hits after the Huskers game. And it was understandable why. The offensive line Deion Sanders had handpicked and created using the transfer portal just fell short. The boys didn’t even manage to crack past the 10-point mark against Nebraska, and that was plain sad. However, no one could’ve thought that this loss would single-handedly change the entire trajectory of Buffs’ football.
They went on a 3-win streak after that, averaging at least 30+ points in every single game. You can say the Baylor showdown was too close for comfort, but that game was the perfect showcase of how Shedeur Sanders has improved as a player. This guy was the most sacked QB last year and the main gripe was the fact that Shedeur was too stingy with the football and lacked the proper decision-making skills.
Against Baylor, he made a Hail Mary toward the endzone with only 3 seconds left on the clock. This helped the Buffs grab the win in overtime. And how can we forget about the Kansas State game? The offense was back to being a wet paper towel, offering little to no protection to Shedeur. He was sacked SIX TIMES during that game.
But did he give up? No. He got in 3 touchdowns with 388 yards under his belt. Keep in mind that this was a game where Travis Hunter wasn’t even on that turf. The guy who has been breaking record after record and catching amazing interceptions was out because of a shoulder injury in the first half. Despite that, Shedeur locked in. All of this was possible because Coach Prime kept on using the “rat poison” psychology on the boys. Now, with the Utes game right around the corner, let us talk about the odds of Deion Sanders winning this.

Buffs vs Utes
See, if we are talking purely based on stats and overall skills, the Buffs have the clear upper hand. Utah Utes are having a rough season with a 4-5 run. The team has averaged around 25 points in every game. However, their defense has been strong enough to stop their opponents from crossing the 20-point mark.
But here is the thing, going into the November 16th showdown, Utes will be heavily crippled. The injury curse has a tight grip on Utah as they announced that 2 of their key offensive players will be out for the Buffs game. TE Brant Kuithe is done for the entire season because of his injury against BYU.

If that wasn’t bad enough, the team also lost their 3rd starting QB for the rest of the season. Brandon Rose suffered a lower-body injury during the same BYU showdown. Both of the earlier QBs for the Utes are already out of the season (Cam Rising and Sam Huard). This rattles the entire offense of the team. If we look at all the facts, then yeah, the Buffs should have an easy game with this one.
