Well, the Colorado sophomore has already taken Deion into confidence. While earlier it was either Shilo, Shedeur, or Hunter who was spotted beside Coach Prime on any show, this time, Stoutmire was spotted live with Romi Bean. Not just this, the Buffs HC already knows about Stoutmire’s sweet secrets. Being a father of five, Deion could not help but appreciate the player’s father’s role in his life, “His Dad is not the kind of guy that why my son ain’t playing.”
Instead, he ensures he “stay on his butt…make sure you put your foot on his throat to make sure he earned everything.” However, it did not take Deion to know Stoutmire in order to know about his dad. The father is quite a name in the world of the NFL.

He is none other than Omar Stoutmire who played at Fresno State between 1993 and 1996 and then with NFL programs like Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins among others. Like father, like son, Stoutmire making the most of the opportunity in CU Buffs’ secondary for a steady start in his college career.
Carter Stoutmire’s rise in the Buffs defense
While stepping into Colorado, the sophomore defensive back from Plano had kept himself flexible, “So wherever they need me, that’s where I was gonna be able to fit in.” It took him 10 snaps play in the season opener to earn Deion and Co.’s trust to fill in for injured safety Shilo. And he did make the Buffs proud as he posted 11 tackles and a pass breakup.
He too knew the cruciality of Shilo’s role who is still recovering from a broken arm. So he had been extra vigilant during the match-up against Nebraska working at strong safety. Stoutmire also shared how he went through a riot of emotions living up to Deion’s son’s role. The Buffs DC Robert Livingston had already raised an alarm, “Whoever is down, you’re the first one to go in.”

And finally, the time came for which Carter Stoutmire had been waiting for so long. But the only thing played in his head all through this while was ‘Just couldn’t mess up my moment.’ And he definitely didn’t as he came up with five tackles against the Cornhuskers. That means as always, even with Stoutmire, Deion Sanders was right when he made the prophecy, “He’s the future.”
