Home/College Football

Dylan Raiola is playing his first season in Nebraska and their fan base didn’t disappoint him. Whether it is football or volleyball, the Husker Nation goes all in to support their players. Awed by the huge turn-up at today’s Nebraska vs Stanford women’s volleyball at Memorial Stadium and the energy from the crowd, the freshman QB couldn’t hide his pride for their fanbase.

Thanks to the loyalty of the Husker Nation, Nebraska broke the world record “1 year ago today at Volleyball Day in Nebraska” with 92,003 people in attendance. While this year saw only 8,952 fans at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, No. 5 Nebraska still dominated No. 2 Stanford making it their first win in four matches since 2013. Aside from the success, the energy coming from the seats is what stole Dylan Raiola’s attention.

When it comes to Nebraska and sports, less is more. They don’t have an NFL or MLB team or other major sports to support so their attention isn’t divided. Taking to his IG story on September 19, Dylan Raiola posted a reel of the Husker Nation singing in unison as their team dominated Stanford. In the caption, his admiration oozed as he wrote, “They never fail! Husker Nation is the best!

Dylan Raiola isn’t the only Husker player impressed with the Husker Nation. DL Ty Robinson also stated, “I know they say there’s no better place but I really believe that.” HC Matt Rhule also shone the spotlight on the loyalty of the Husker Nation saying, “That loyalty, that passion, as I’ve said since Day 1, we feel humbled by, and we have to make sure we do our jobs.” This loyalty not only garnered a record-breaking attendance to one of their games but it also paved the way for Nebraska football to enjoy an unrivaled experience.

Nebraska celebrates the 400th consecutive sellout

Nebraska’s next football game against Illinois Fighting Illini at Memorial Stadium on Friday will mark the program’s 400th consecutive sellout. This sell-out streak began in 1962 through different stadiums and conferences. The Husker Nation has played a huge part in our success, staying loyal and giving unwavering support throughout the years.

Matt Rhule credits the sincerity of their fanbase for this milestone. He said, “I think loyalty. I think just passion and loyalty. And I think the loyalty, it’s not just sellouts, it’s coming that early and staying late.” Now Dylan Raiola and the Huskers are entering Week 4 with a 3-0 record for the first time since 2016. This coupled with the fact that it’s the 400th time they’re selling out their game in a row is truly something to marvel about.
