The wait is finally over and the much-anticipated game is finally here. Nebraska Cornhuskers completely crushed Northern Iowa in their game, winning by a score of 34-3. However, what really took everyone’s attention was the tribute by Huskers quarterback Dylan Raiola to NFL player Patrick Mahomes. But what could Dylan have possibly done?
Even after showcasing a remarkable performance, freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola is annoying his fans. Well, we all know how much Dylan Raiola adores NFL star Patrick Mahomes, but his recent actions of replicating Mahomes during the match have irritated the fans. Today College Football Report shared a video of Dylan jumping and cheering the fans while warming up. But again, it’s Patrick’s way; at least fans took it that way.
The FOX College Football took to X to make fun of his action, saying, “Dylan Raiola back with the Mahomes pregame ritual” It all began when Raiola, like Patrick at Kansas City Chiefs’ games, decided to amp up the audience before the match. Raiola ran towards the crowd, raising his arms and making a gesture of asking them to cheer the team up. But the action was not received well, knowing his love for Patrick Mahomes.

People have been comparing Dylan Raiola to Patrick Mahomes for a while now. During a recent game against Colorado, some fans wondered why Raiola seemed to be trying to copy Mahomes’ style. But other fans defended him, saying that there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be like the best. If Raiola is trying to imitate Mahomes, it’s probably because Mahomes is a great player, and learning from him can only help Raiola improve.
Well, it goes beyond that too, either copying Patrick’s hairstyle as his fall camp look or getting similar shades as him. Dylan has always tried to follow his role model! However, it’s not sitting well with the internet community.
What’s your perspective on:
Did Dylan Raiola's Mahomes tribute really deserve all that hate, or are people just overreacting?

Adding fuel to the fire, one fan commented, “I love Raiola, but this is starting to get weird.” It seems fans aren’t brushing off Dylan Raiola’s actions. Another fan added to it, saying, “So stupid, seriously.” But when did following your role model become stupid? A fan straightaway called his warm-up action embarrassing, saying, “He is fun to watch, but he is also very cringeworthy.” Raiola adores the floor Patrick walks on, and who cares if it turns out to cringe? It’s between them. In fact, Mahomes himself has given a shoutout to the Cornhuskers QB, calling him ‘Lil Cuzzo’ when he makes game-changing plays. Even when asked about Raiola copying his style, he simply responded, it’s ‘cool.’
But recently, Raiola took an interesting stand saying that he picked No,15 jersey because of Tim Tebow and not Mahomes. Well, the internet is having a good laugh over it as one user took to X, saying, “And bro is trying to say he’s not copying Mahomes.” It looks at Patrick Mahomes’ remarkable journey to the NFL, where the 28-year-old led the Chiefs to their two consecutive Super Bowl wins. Why won’t Raiola follow in his footsteps? Even another fan took a sarcastic jab at him, saying, “It’s been weird.” Well, people should understand that following your role model is not weird, and also Dylan has his own identity. During his last match, Daylan Raiola ran for 423 yards with three touchdowns, resulting in a win against the Buffs. Even today, he threw 2 touchdowns against Northern Iowa during the first half of the match. It looks like so far following Patrick Mahomes has turned out well for him.
