Look how the tables turned for Kirby Smart. While Georgia came off as a pretty good program before the kickoff, it took Alabama Crimson Tide to easily snatch away victory from their hands. The trauma of the September 28 game will take some time to heal. While the Dawgs fans are still dealing with the lingering pain, here analyst Josh Pate arrives to further add to their tension about Georgia’s future.
While it’s too early to lose hope for the Dawgs, they can still hit the rebound button. But that’s definitely not going to be easy for them.

The Tide wave literally swept away the Dawgs breaking Smart’s heart again in a 41-34 victory. And how could Pate just keep shut about the big loss? After all, it was the analyst who came up with the big prediction right before the game, “Alabama to win the game outright.” But what did Pate have to say this time around? To the analyst, Smart fell into a big hole! “It’s terrible that you dug yourself the hole or you allowed them to dig the hole and then throw your body in the first half that’s not good,” Pate said, delivering a harsh critique of the Dawgs.
Their disastrous feat against Alabama came off as a huge premonition for Smart as per the analyst. Going by Georgia’s trends, Pate can actually see the future, as he added, “I could also see two or three weeks from now them trailing Texas 31 to 17 in the fourth quarter.” But amidst the not-so-positive talks for Smart and Co., the analyst did drop a reassurance: “They may still win the conference.”
Well, that’s more likely possible given the Bulldogs are 3-1 so far. And here comes an NFL legend to point out Georgia’s biggest problem and where they’ve gone wrong while they were facing the Crimson Tide!
Can Kirby Smart lead Georgia back to victory?
The Dawgs’ defeat has been so alarming that four big shots came together on The Players’ Lounge podcast- Aaron Murray, Knowshon Moreno, Ben Jones, and Tavarres King. That’s where they deconstructed Smart’s gameplay that led them to get stampede by Tide. The 28-0 lead that seemed to have been served in the plate for Alabama by Georgia, the ex-Minnesota Vikings WR Tavarres King stated, “We started very slow……I’ve never seen a Georgia team where balls are being caught underneath and there was nobody two to three yards.”
But Smart and Co. can still bounce back. So what’s the path Georgis is going to follow that would help them to regain their lost pride? The Dawgs now have a chance to regroup with 2-3 Auburn. The Auburn Tigers will be facing off against 1-4 Mississippi State in coming weeks. So far, it might be a cakewalk for them.

Post this, things would ramp up as they would be facing the No.2 Texas Longhorns on October 19, and the No.12 Ole Miss Rebels on November 9. So, Kirby Smart now has enough time to fix their loopholes. Thanks to Crimson Tide for serving them up with a fresh dose of reality check that might help the Dawgs to buckle up, breaking away from the bubble they had been living in.
