What would you expect from an NFL HC transitioning to college football? After almost three decades as an NFL head coach, 6x Super Bowl champ Bill Belichick could be considering a jump to the college level. After all, there’s almost always a little of truth in every rumor. And reports suggest that he was interviewed for the HC role at North Carolina. But can these college players keep up with his rigid professional routine?
For Bill Belichick, strict discipline is a core factor in shaping great football players. The former New England Patriots HC gave a heads up on it during his appearance on a new YouTube episode on The Pat McAfee Show on December 10. He said, “IF I was in a college program, the college program would be a pipeline to the NFL for the players that had the ability to play in the NFL. It would be a professional program, training, nutrition, scheme, coaching, techniques that would transfer to the NFL. It will be an NFL program at college level and an education that would get the players ready for their career after football.”
Of course, Bill Belichick is suggesting only the good things for the benefit of any college football program. He’s sort of the Nick Saban of the NFL! It’s not for nothing he’s one of the greatest head coaches of all time and also the third winningest with a career record of 302-165! He may have 28 years of experience as a HC but his assistant coaching roles amount to nearly five decades of NFL experience. With this stellar record and experience, can he jump into college football and recreate what the former CFB GOAT coach did?

Nick Saban may be retired now but his record remains unbroken with seven national championships. His HC record stands at an unrivaled 292-71-1. Best known for his stint at Alabama, the legendary coach not only excelled on the field but also has a way with gaining college players’ interests. He holds the record by compiling seven consecutive recruiting titles for the Crimson Tide. Can Bill Belichick top that?

Tom Brady drops his views on Bill Belichick’s college football rumors
As far as demeanor is concerned, Bill Belichick isn’t fit for college football players. Former Patriots stars Tom Brady and Julian Edelman almost laughed off the idea of their former HC in college football. During their appearance on NFL on FOX, they were asked if the 72-year-old could make a smooth transition to CFB. The retired NFL GOAT bluntly said “no” while Edelman added more emotion to his “absolutely not.”
The conversation turned to recruiting as Edelman imagined how Belichick would recruit 18-year-olds who have a very different mindset than professionals. Under his provocation, Tom Brady made a hilarious impersonation of his former HC saying, “Listen, you really wanna come here? We don’t really want you anyway. I mean, I guess you could come, we’ll figure out if you can play.” Surely not a great way to impress young players! But it’s not always about recruiting right?
