Can Michigan redeem their season by crushing Ohio State's championship dreams?

The No. 1 ranked team against the national champions, and it didn’t just go well for the latter.  Michigan’s 17-38 loss to the Ducks was quite predictable, looking at the pathetic state of the Wolverines this season and Oregon’s unbeatable status. Sherrone Moore’s team is 5-4 on the season. Highly unlikely that we may even see them defending their crown in the playoffs. Amidst all the backlash, Moore’s team is receiving college football analyst Joel Klatt’s kind words to say to Sherrone Moore.

On the latest episode of the Joel Klatt show, Klatt revealed how Michigan can still save an embarrassing losing streak this season following their game on November 30th against Ohio State. “It’s like remember a couple of those wins very easily could have been losses for Michigan. USC, Minnesota, comes to mind. Now you look up, and you lose to Oregon. It’s like this is not the game that I’m disappointed. The other ones were.”

Klatt recalled Michigan’s 27-24 close win over Minnesota and the similar 27-24 win over USC. There is nothing wrong with what Klatt is suggesting. These two games felt like last-minute victories for the Wolverines and they could have lost these games as well. By giving this example, Klatt further revealed how Michigan can still complete the season with a little bit of dignity.

Moving forward for Michigan fans, the season comes down, you can spoil Ohio State’s chance to win a Big 10 championship potentially depending on what happens in the Ohio State and Indiana games, but that’s always going to be a motivation for Michigan to try to get their fourth straight win over Buckeyes.”

We understand the context behind “The Game,” and anyone donning the Michigan colors would not need any reason to turn up for that game. You may be down and out, the season may be over, but it’s the Buckeyes. As Klatt suggested, what better way to end a disappointing season other than spoiling it for your rivals as well. And if we know anything about Ryan Day’s recent outings against the Wolverines, an upset might be on card.

As Klatt suggested, Moore’s boys will anyhow have to secure a win in these two crucial games to maintain their status in college football.
