Is Dylan Raiola the next Patrick Mahomes? What do you think of their mutual respect?

If Nebraska freshman QB Dylan Raiola could pick an NFL idol, it would be Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes! The rising college football star turned heads, not just because of his resemblance to the NFL star, but his performance at the Cornhuskers’ season opener against the UTEP Miners earned him respect from fans and his idol.

Patrick Mahomes didn’t stay quiet when Raiola scored an impressive TD and gave him a shoutout. Now that it’s the big day for Mahomes, the 19-year-old is nestled at home watching the game to support his idol from the screen.

Like every Patrick Mahomes’ fan, Dylan Raiola is all set for the highly anticipated game between the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens. Taking to his IG story on September 6, he posted a reel featuring Mahomes’ videos following it with an in-game picture of the live game from his TV. In the caption, he wrote, “Let’s do it 15.”

In Raiola’s last game against UTEP, he passed for 238 yards and two touchdowns leading to a victory. Mahomes praised his touchdown in the second quarter by responding to Bleachers Report’s post on his touchdown where he called Raiola “Lil cuzzo!!” Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time that Raiola received that label from the 2x Super Bowl champion.

Dylan Raiola has Patrick Mahomes’ best interest

Many people know Dylan Raiola is a huge fan of Patrick Mahomes as he emulates the same Mohawk curls and the trademark goatee. Mahomes acted like the idol he should be to a rising college football star right from the start. When the Cornhuskers freshman entered their camp earlier in August looking just like Mahomes, it broke the internet with the uncanny resemblance. After the Chief’s QB heard about it, he played the good sport and responded, “That’s my lil cuzzo.”

Even HC Matt Rhule asserted that Raiola looks up to the plays of the 2X SB MVP, saying, “He wears the No. 15, and he patterns a lot of his game after Patrick Mahomes.” Should Nebraska be glad that they now have a starter who mirrors his plays with one of the current greatest NFL QBs? After all, emulating the best players usually yields great results such as Raiola dominating the Miners with a 40-7 victory in their season opener. Will his Mahomes-style play help his team in their next matchup against Colorado, which prides itself in stars like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter? Let us know in the comments below.
