Is Deion Sanders biting off more than he can chew with Colorado's Big Twelve challenge?

As the days roll on, the Colorado Buffaloes’ hopes in the Big 12 are shrinking! While before the season started, Deion Sanders and Co. soared high in confidence, to teach everyone a lesson, it’s not going to happen. Atleast this season holds no hope as highlighted on the podcast. It has been a wake-up call for Deion who might be still under the conception that his ride in Big 12 would be a walk in the park.

Instead, it rather would be an uphill battle. Plus, the reason why the Buffs’ confidence got oomphed up, the revamped O-line, turned out to be a big flop.

Last season it was Deion’s Colorado who were at the upper hand and defeated Matt Rhule’s army in a 36-14 feat. And look how the tables turned this season. The Cornhuskers crushed Colorado 28-10 on the fateful night of September 7. This defeat had been enough of a future flash for the Buffs. And here came Josh Pate with his podcast to further shake up Deion. First things first, he addressed the wrong impression, that Coach Prime may have, “Big misconception about the Big 12 is it’s pinball conference.”

Deion might be taking it easy since the Big 12 race does not have “elite top-end NFL Draft-type talent” but the third, fourth, and fifth-year players are enough to create a rage. If so happens, Coach Prime’s weapons would be of no use. As Josh dished out a brutal take, “I don’t care if you got Travis Hunter. I don’t care if you got Shedeur, especially if you can’t protect him it’s not an easy task to go into this conference and just pop your knuckles “Hey we’re Colorado!””

Maybe, Pate is right. When you are about to face bigshots like Kansas State, Utah, and Arizona, your defense should be top-notch. But poor Deion, the Buffs will be bringing a butter knife to a gunfight!

Mystery of Deion Sanders’ faulty O-line

While the Buffs fans waited with bated breath for the revamped O-line to rage across the gridiron, they were shut in the first half itself. Because of this, Shedeur Sanders made a “rookie mistake” by throwing an interception from the end zone which was brilliantly returned by the Cornhuskers cornerback Tommi Hill. The pressure started to mount and the O-line failed at its part and the QB got sacked five times. And what did Coach Prime have to say about this setback?

“Protections were a problem,” admitted Deion. However, not even for once did Coach Prime throw the players under the bus and rather is pinned on the belief to improve themselves, “We gotta figure out a way to prevent that and do a better job with that.” But does the Buffs HC have any clue why the O-line failed to keep Nebraska’s defense under check?

No, it does not seem so. Instead, Deion Sanders confessed, “I have no idea. If we would’ve known that answer, I think we would’ve responded quicker. It’s like we just never got it going until it was too late.” Time for the Buffs to patch up that leaky O-line before the Big 12 turns into a full-on disaster.
